It took a while, but now it is up and running. I had a lot of problems starting the MusicIP service from the GUI, but once I followed the instructions on http://www.musicip.com/mixer/server.jsp it worked a lot better. Once it is up and running, you can see the MM symbol after songs you can use to generate playlists in (at least) the fishbone web UI for Slimserver and on the Squeezebox itself. No symbol for songs in Favorites strangely enough. I use MusicIP from within SlimServer to generate playlists and save them in SlimServer. Lots of discussion in both MusicIP and SlimServer forums on how to setup MusicIP to work properly. These days, after a server re-start I start MusicIP, then stop SlimServer, then start SlimServer. Is there any documentation on MusicIP/MusicMagic? I've downloaded and installed the MusicIP software. I can send a playlist to slimserver (although only one song, apparently a 'known issue' (http://forums.predixis.com/index.php?showtopic=2407&pid=10360&st=0&#entry10360)). My slimserver connects to the local MusicIP service and I have a new option in my slimserver configuration. What's supposed to happen now? I'm on 6.3.1 with MusicIP 1.7 and run AlienBBC. Is there any reason to upgrade?
