Mine continues to be unstable, and I have spent more than enough time trying to get it to work reliably. At least now it's usable, but still displays the blue wireless icon too often despite excellent wireless coverage and despite the fact SB3s have been working flawlessly in the same environment. I quickly relegated to SBC to bedroom listening station duty, where I don't have to deal with it that often. Re: [slim] SBC r2448 less stable ?
Hi, I have the same odd behanviour of loosing connection. * When you set the Controller down and it loses connection (blue wifi icon) is it going to sleep and waking up? Or is this happening in its charging cradle? I have the controller always in the cradle during night. In the morning the controller has the blue wifi icon, controller still in the cradle * Is the server being shut down and then restarted at a later time? Or is the server going to sleep/hibernate? Server is PC always on. * When you upgraded to 7.0.1, did you install on top of 7.0, or did you do a clean install after removing 7.0? 7.0.1 on top of previous release * When the icon is blue on your Controller, what is the color on your Receiver? I use it with SB3 and the SB is off showing clock. Hope you will find the problem soon. -- advocaat advocaat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17235 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47767 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] SBC r2448 less stable ?
I have a ZyXEL router and hope You can sort out the bug about poor connectivity already reported on ZyXEL routers. But in the days after the may 14. it definatly felt as if it got a lot worse. Before that I was using SC 7.0.1. from may 8th. (controller version I don't remember) things were OK but not perfect. For a few days I had to reset the router numerous times because the router crashed when the controller was trying to connect. After I re-installed r2448 on the controller I havn't been forced to reset the router - but I still loose connection from time to time (btw. Powersaving is off). Mostly when I experience the problem the controller get's reconnected after i short while, but then it often dosn't see the reciever/player even though it (the player) is connected and playing music!!!. The wireless symbol on the controller looks fine, and it ask's me to choose player but the list is empty. Then I have to control the music from SC until the controller finally sees the reciever/player. /Letten Sorry if my english isn't perfect, but I bet it's better than your Dansih ;-) Windows Vista, ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-61 -- Letten Letten's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16718 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47767 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

* When you set the Controller down and it loses connection (blue wifi icon) is it going to sleep and waking up? Or is this happening in its charging cradle? It has only ever happened when it is charging in the cradle and only after it has been left for many hours over night. * Is the server being shut down and then restarted at a later time? Or is the server going to sleep/hibernate? No, the server runs 24/7 and doesn't sleep or hibernate. * When you upgraded to 7.0.1, did you install on top of 7.0, or did you do a clean install after removing 7.0? I installed 7.0.1 on top of 7.0 and then later installed 7.0.2 the same way. * When the icon is blue on your Controller, what is the color on your Receiver? I had the blue icon issue for the third time today, the Receiver had a white icon. When it happened again this morning I did a little investigation and discovered that the networking was still working on the SBC (I has assumed before that it didn't have a connection when in this state). So I ssh'd into the SBC, killed jive and then ran jive again. Once I did that everything was working fine. Would it be any help to make a SBC in this state available for remote access ? I am happy to do that if it happens again. -- andynormancx andynormancx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17417 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47767 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] SBC r2448 less stable ?
Hi all, I might be barking up the wrong tree but I think I know what the problem is. If you are using a PC or laptop to stream your music from and you switch off the PC or laptop while controller is connected to it then you have lost connection. If you connect controller to Squeezenetwork before switching off your PC or laptop then it will boot up into squeezenetwork straight away. (I think). I have had my Duet for a few weeks now and my wife thinks I have a mistress the way I talk about it. I love the fact that it is fallible as it gives me something to ponder over and challenges my limited knowledge and intelligence. If the truth be known, most of the people on this forum who understand that this is an evolving bit of kit love its idiosyncrises (I think I spelt that wrong) because it represents a challenge.(I also play music through it sometimes). Can't wait until I can connect a 3.5mm bluetooth transmitter to my controller and connect to my Sony DR BT50 headphones out in the garden. Hi I'm definitely seeing something similar to you and it's VERY irritating. I've not had the the controller rebooting itself but every morning the controller shows the blue wi-fi icon and it makes no attempt to reconnect with the SC. Only a reboot fixes it. What is particularly odd is that I don't use the system during the day (about 8 hours) and when I use it at night, all is well. However after 6 hours of sleep the system goes into this weird state. It seems something in particular is happening over night. This when the music scan happens and the SC is running on a dedicated XP box. Is there a setting I've missed?
