Re: [slim] Squeezebox Radio: Amazon Bargain
update... the seller has responded saying that royal mail had lost the parcel but have now found it and if it doesn't arrive this week he'll refund. I'll post a conclusion to this once I have one for the record. I feel much better for having some communication from the seller. -- fairyliquidizer "O wad some Power the giftie gie us To see oursels as ithers see us! Re: [slim] Squeezebox Radio: Amazon Bargain
Well I really hope I just get the radio. A refund isn't the end of the world but I will loose a bit of faith in man if the dude doesn't come up with the goods. I will post an update to this thread either way as (1) I wouldn't want to damn someone who may have done his bit and the postal system has let me down and (2) if he hasn't I wouldn't want anyone else being let down. The thing that unsettles me is the lack of reply from him to my attempts to contact him. I hope I am just being neurotic! It's a shame I don't know if I really have a problem as I could order elsewhere then. Still thanks for the posts. They are all helpful (including the interesting small business on Amazon angle). Amazon are excellent at dealing with problems since their reputation is worth more than the cost of one bad transaction. I've had them apply leverage to marketplace sellers to make things right, have had Amazon themselves fix issues, and also close down the shops of errant sellers. You shouldn't have a problem. -- paulster Web Interface sending music to the wrong player? I work for a (very large) company which has a presence on Amazon. Their requirements for shipping within xx hours of receipt of the order may cause some smaller shops to send ship notices to satisfy their contract with Amazon, even if only on paper. It's not a problem for us, but we do sometimes have to push Amazon orders ahead of some from our own websites. -- kc5f kc5f's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19652 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87027 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox Radio: Amazon Bargain
About a month ago I ordered a bit of electronic kit from an Amazon Marketplace seller - got a shipped notice a day or two after order. On the last day of the delivery estimate I got an e-mail saying they couldn't source the item I wanted and money would be refunded. The money was refunded about a week later. I think it was a little dubious that they sent a "shipped" notice and so debited the credit card when clearly they hadn't the goods in stock. That said, I believe Amazon ensures funds would be refunded. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87027 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Squeezebox Radio: Amazon Bargain
Hi, I'm starting to regret that I couldn't resist a bargain squeezebox radio on Amazon.co.uk for £80 so I bought it and I received a shipping notification from the Marketplace Vendor on the 3rd of April. It still hasn't arrived. It is a new seller on Marketplace. He is selling more of the Radios at this price now (or the same one again). Standard delivery from Royal Mail is usually 3-4 days although the timeframe listed by Amazon for delivery is longer as cross-border transactions take longer. However Amazon wont let me file a non-receipt claim until after his timeframe but I reckon his delivery estimate: 5 April 2011 - 18 April 2011 is excessive and I am very worried. Amazon will open the claim window on 21 April 2011. I have contacted the seller twice and had no replies. Ultimately I just want a radio and I don't know what's happening. I guess I was stupid to place an order with a vendor with no history. If he was communicating and giving say proof of postage then I'd feel better. Should I be worried? Any suggestions?
