I saw that it is a built-in plugin on 7.9. I was asking if it's
possible to access it in 7.8 somehow. I guess I should have been more
specific with my question. For some reason I have been having problems
trying to download 7.9 w/vortexbox.

Hi Michael,
I am sure it is my fault that I did 'nt make myself clear,Previously ,
after a song or a playlist the music was stopping.
Thanks to your remarks ,regarding sugarcube ,now the music goes on.Then
I realized that uninstalling DSTM ,the music
goes on,again, due to sugarcube.
I 've read in the forum that DSTM kicks in during a song and provides a
list of songs that may come from the local HD or spotify .
The mix itself has to do with the choice of other plugins , random mix
or spotify recommendations or last mix.
That is what I expected to happen and never did.So , I was not sure if
DSTM was working or how it is working.
Anyway, thank you for your effort.Sorry for been tiresome.

No. DSTM doesn't provide songs. It only provides the infrastructure to
continue playback of some sort once the playlist comes to an end. But
it's other plugins which provide the tracks. This can be RandomPlay, or
SugarCube, or LastMix, or...

Hi Michael,

I am afraid I have misguided you a little. The music goes on due to
sugarcube that picks song after song.
DSTM should provide a list of songs (a playlist of 5 or more like
smartmix in the past but this is not the case. The belief that last mix
was working is due to random selection of next song in sugarcube-musicip
plugin everytime I was trying the same song.
Quite disappointing...but restoration of sugarcube was a welcome side
effect.if you still have the patience please check the log file:

I'm not aware of any plugin which would be known to conflict with DSTM.
Even in your case it wasn't just SugarCube, but the way it was
configured and set up.

Hi Michael. You were right!!!I had'nt untick that.Trying to make DSTM to
work I had uninstalled several plugins (random mix, auto rescan ,track
stat etc).
Guess what. DSTM appears to work!
When I start a track shortly after a new one appears from my hard disk

recommendations,musicip and last mix.
Last mix picked up the most relevant choice.
Thank you, very much,indeed.

Hi Michael,
I play flac or mp3 files from my vortexbox, or any musicip mix.I had a
look at the Logitech Media Server Log File, while playing a song, but I
could'nt trace anything related to DSTM.I copy/paste something from the
log while the song is near 2/3 of its duration.Have a look "...[17-01-03

What are you playing when DSTM should kick in? There was an issue with
certain resources which could lead to DSTM failure. You'd recognize this
in the log where it would say something along the lines of "no mix
created as last track is a radio station" or similar. I only fixed that
issue in December. Your build is older. You might want to update.

I think I may have found a bug in DSTM. It works fine until I listen to
a radio station, and then it won't work again unless I restart LMS. It
seems that a variable may get set when a radio station is found last in
the queue and then it is never reset after switching back to local files
or a streaming service.

Fix should be available in an hour. Thanks again!

Re: [slim] Don't Stop The Music

Michael,

a radio station, and then it won't work again unless I restart LMS. It
seems that a variable may get set when a radio station is found last in
the queue and then it is never reset after switching back to local files
or a streaming service.

I added AC/DC - Back In Black to the playlist and DSTM - LastMix added 5
songs. I skipped to the next song (Danzig - Mother) and then switched to
a radio stream. After a couple minutes, I cleared the playlist and then
added 1 track, Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion. It played to the end and DSTM
did not attempt to add anymore. All of the tracks I was using were
local files.

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1470912157 @ Thu Aug 11 11:20:50

All plugins are current.

Thanks,

Deezer's Smart Radio is basically what others call an Artist Radio: you
pick an artist and let Deezer create some mix based on that artist. In
the DSTM case the plugin picks the artists from the current playlist and
tries to create a mix based on one of them.

You can enable debugging for plugin.deezer to get more information in

Ok - thanks. Found it.

At the moment I see only my Favourites, but I have neither Spotify nor
Deezer installed.

I just installed Random Mix and now I have also Random (limited to
current theme) and other random.

But to use spotify or deezer, I would need an subscription - correct? I
have Qobuz - but unfortunately they do not provide any mix based on
current song feature.

Does DSTM support MusicIP?

It's a built-in plugin in recent 7.9 versions.
Appears under Home > Extras.
No Spotify subscription needed.

I might have overlooked it - but where is the DSTM no located? Is it a
separate plugin? I assume it requires a spotify subscription?

Cheers,

Now you have told us we will be on the lookout on 1st April 2017.

Rick, btw, is in the running for British PM on account of the fact that
he will never give us up or let us down etc. I like that track in
moderation. Perhaps it's my age.

I think Michael has been mischievous. Four tracks in to the Spotify
stuff is Chris de Burgh's Lady In Red. WTF?

No, really, just NO. I've been wondering whether this was TEN's answer
to Rick-Rolling. Chris de Burgh always shows up in my mixes. And trust:
I do not want him there. I went as far as blacklisting him in my old
SmartMix plugin.

And FWIW: I did indeed add a Rick-Rolling feature to SmartMix for April
1st. But nobody seems to have noticed... Every mix would have ended in
"Never gonna give you up" that day (if somehow possible). Eg. like this:
