Re: [slim] Streaming to Windows Mobile 6.1 device
Thanks for the reply, I have tried everything again double checking all the steps as suggested. Everything does seem to be 'going through the motions' but no sound. I am still unable to adjust the volume slider in the player window and it defaults to the lowest setting (1 segment). Is there something i can do manually here to see if this is the issue? I have looked in the server log and there doesn't appear to be any messages. I have a gut feeling the issue is with media player streaming? Is there any test i can do at the command line or otherwise to check what it is being stream or not? If i haven't made it clear this is all on a pc on the internal network, at the momment rather than a mobile Any help appreciated. -- Grizzly Grizzly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21095 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55093 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Streaming to Windows Mobile 6.1 device
This would be really cool if you can figure it out. I have an HTC P4000 (also called a Titan, 6800 and a whole bunch of other things depending on where you live) and it would be awesome if I could stream my 1000 album ALAC collection to it. My iPod would then be relegated to flying duties only! Just a (probably stupid) question, are you trying to stream via wifi or a cell provider? I have an unlimited data plan (Telus) but I doubt it would be fast enough to stream music, but then again, I've never tried. Cheers. -- newy newy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18530 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55093 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Streaming to Windows Mobile 6.1 device
I have done some further investigation but I am struggling to isolate where the problem lies. I am running the latest version of squeeze centre (7.2.1. On my internal network I have opened opened a URL and streamed 192.168.5.254:9010/stream.mp3 - everything appears okay the status bar moves and everything seems correct. I then load up the correct player in another window and changed the streaming to 128 kbs streaming. (this is reflected in media player if I right click on properties of the URL. I then select either a natural sound file - nothing even though it appears to be playing in the right hand window of squeeze centre. If i try a playlist the same however it does seem to jump around the tracks. Not sure where to go now seems close - is there any diagnostic etc i can run to trace what is happening and maybe give me a clue as to where the problem lies? I'm sure it is very close. Is there anything i can do or look at to give me a pointer in the right direction? Tony When you choose the playlist in squeezecenter make sure you have the correct device selected in the upper right corner. Can't tell you how many times that got me. So keep in mind you need two connections to do this remotely. One for the squeezecenter and another for the stream itself. So you have to open up a few ports on your router. I forget what ports you need. But one is 9000 for the squeeze center. You may want to throttle it down too when you do remote. For a mobile device 192kbps is plenty (if you can get that to work reliably). -- mswlogo XP Cat5 Transporter SPDIF Meridian G68 DSP 6000, 5500HC, 33 XP Cat5 SB3 SPDIF Meridian DSP 5000 XP Cat5 SB3 SPDIF Meridian G91 DSP 5000 'My Transporter Setup' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=350741postcount=45) 'Hitch Hikers Guide to Meridian' (http://www.meridianunplugged.com) mswlogo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9090 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55093 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Streaming to Windows Mobile 6.1 device
on the device you need to have a media player playing 192.168.5.254:9010/stream.mp3 to get the audio. Once you have connected to that you can create a playlist for that player. I don't think volume adjustment has any effect on remote streams, that is all down to the player of the stream. -- funkstar funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55093 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
