Not so much ESP then. It was rather a guy currently a lot dealing with

It's now live after Amazon certified the voice-model changes. The new
command goes by the keyword 'transpose'.

When you say "Alexa, transpose Kitchen and Library players" the
now-playing playlist queue/timestamp and player-volume levels are
swapped between the players in question.

Swap is a good idea for the MediaServer skill. I don’t need a 3rd player
to park as I can just save the playlist to a temp file and reload it.
I’ll put it on my list.

You can achieve a "swap" if you have a third player to act as a

While you wait ... this might work

Create a new Group player called "Daddy's Music" and also lay via it.
Associate it with the player that you are at ... and start listening.
Then when you are told to move simply pause the group player and change
its membership to wherever you are being exiled to.

The kids' playlist can then be moved to their new destination.
You could also make a Group player called "Kid's Music" and do the same
there.

Although groups plugin is awesome and I use it in different scenarios,
it isn't practical in this particular one..
anyway I think I'm sorted as converting fully into Material Skin which
developer kindly added requested improvements into "move queue into

Re: [slim] Walk with me

Hi Michael,

Just wondering if it would be possible to tweak/improve "Music, Walk
with me" a bit please?

It seems that whenever queue is transferred from sync'ed player ( both
by grab or transfer options) original sync is changed/broken.
It is particularly painful when previously sync players are in one room
(2 SB Radios in stereo pair).. One of them is stopped but other is still
playing and now synced with transfer destination.

I have noticed that when testing "Material Skin - Move queue to another
player" feature which is apparently based on "Music, Walk with me" code.
Both indeed work in same way.

I have suggested here
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109624-Announce-Material-Skin=981009=1#post981009
adding extra steps to remember source sync before transfer and
restoring it after.

I guess same behavior which is present with "Group Players" plugin which
gives option to restore previous sync when dismantling Group. Hope that
makes sense and its possible.
Cheers!

I have installed Music Walk With Me to try this out and after switching
a random mix between players playback stops after the tenth song. I
assume this is not meant to happen.

I looked into this, and unfortunately it's a bit more complicated than I
thought. I can do something to mimic the behaviour of transferring the
random play mode to the other player. But it would eg. not transfer the
list of played tracks etc. without some changes to the RandomPlay plugin.

The "other players" plugin did this , but it's not maintained and is
very likely broken .

But why walk back to the other room, use a phone or tablet as remote ?
Then walk with me becomes more useful if you forget to forward the
playlist ahead of you .

I was like you. But when you start to grow a very large collection of
"liquid" records, starting a random mix from time to time is a
refreshing re-discovery. Sometimes I find myself thinking: what music

Lucky me. Being an old-fashioned album listener I never felt the need to
add some randomness to a playlist.
Ever since the first CD players capable of shuffling tracks came out
some decades ago I had no use for this feature. I always accepted the
order given to the tracks by the artist or the record company as being
enough random for me. :)

Player only the tracks currently in the playlist will be transferred and

I have had Switch Player installed for years and didn't realise you
could grab music from another player. I assumed that the switch had to
be initiated on the "playing" device. Sure enough just tried it out and
it works perfectly.

Walk With me can be called out of the context menu and allows syncing or

In iPeng I sync the new player and then unsync the old one. This usually
works fine, you just have to give it some additional thought when
handling groups of players and IIRC there were some issues on
MySqueezebox.com.
At least on LMS you don't have to stop the player leaving the group
because it won't continue to play.
It's actually quite simple.

Is there a CLI command to do the same thing ?

This plugin basically is a UI to the CLI's "sync" command.

Is ther somewhere a documentation with all the CLI commands that are
available ?

It's available from the LMS web UI:

Have you installed the Music Walk With Me plugin?
When installed, item should appear under My Apps.

Yes, there's another plugin that works okay for me (Android only),
that's Switch player, switches your playlist to another player and
switches control to the player you've moved to.

Presumably it is not fully implemented as clicking on it doesn't seem to
have any effect. It is a good idea though
