Came this utterance formulated by Joe Hartwig to my mailbox:

i cant seem to find any old english fonts

Like these?
http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/SearchPage.htm?kid=old+englishst=12submit=Search

so i was thing u guys should make it so the user can add fonts like
 downloading them and inporting them

Fonts are generally added to the operating system, not the package.
Although some packages have been known to add fonts of various
qualities. Many word processors have been known to add fonts though this
is less needed these days. Microsofts new fonts that come with Office
2007 also come with the free Power Point Viewer.

im using windows vista any ideas on how i could get old styel english
on there? beside what i said? oh and im talking about using the font
to right letts and stuff not just to look at

Then you'll most likely want the Old English (LET) font as you are
righting letts and stuff. It seems to have a reasonable sized glyph set
in the character map.
http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/detail.htm?pid=4345598

Keep your writings short with a fancy font as people will give up
if it is too hard to read. Free fonts often do not even include lower
case letters.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting me. I have decided I do not want Open Office on my
computer, because I do not have enough space to delegate to this program.

I have searched for a way to remove it from my computer, but can not locate
any way to remove it.

Please remove Open Office from my computer, or tell me how to do it.

Thank you very much.

Hi Mary

You remove OpenOffice in the same way you remove any other program from
your computer. You have not told us if your computer is Windows, Linux
or Apple, I will assume that you have a Windows machine, if I am wrong
then please come back to ask for further help.

In Windows Vista the way to remove any program is to go to the Start and
then Control Panel. Control panel normally opens up a fresh window and
will allow you to run the Programs and Features option. The program
will display all the programs you have installed, normally in
alphabetical order. Select the program you with to remove and then use
the Uninstall/Change button at the top of the screen. This will remove
the program in question.

The process is very similar in windows XP except you run Add or Remove
Programs.

I hope that helps

Rob

Actually it's not, but the idea is similar.
I just get one page. The rest is ignored. I suppose I could do a page

Well, I have a collection of old English-style fonts that I could
possibly send you. Because I've been using and stuck with O2K and
Win98/2K for so long they are naturally all (or almost all) TrueType
Fonts. I remember searching for the New York Times font but they claim
they use a proprietary font that isn't released to the public (so they
say). That hasn't stopped someone from trying though.

I've been listening to this thread for a bit. I'm hearing you say copy and
paste...but the details of exactly what procedure you're using to copy and
paste are yet unclear. From what you are saying it is probable that the issue
yo are having a problem with arises from your copy-paste procedure, rather than
from a program glitch. Perhaps if you would share exactly what that process is
for you, keystroke by keysroke, click by click. How are you selecting what you
want to copy? etc etc.

Seriously though, folks, it's a flustrating ordeal.
I don't pretend to be an OOo pro but I've been around for a bit and
cut/copy/paste seems to be a standard across many computers. Which is
to say, you use CTL (Control) -X for cut, CTL-C for copy and CTL-V for
paste, and the computer will copy text, cut (delete) it if it's not
read-only, and paste, again if it's not read-only.
So what I did was copy the text from the web page, and pasted it into
OOo Writer. Unfortunately, Writer only seems to acknowledge the first page.

LOL! I haven't encountered this with any other program except maybe
Notepad which is notoriously limited.

I can't be any clearer than that except to come over to your place and
show you.

Actually you can:

Answer the question that I asked: What is the url of the web page that
you are CP'ing from? If you can't provide that, then you are simply
wasting the time of folks that are *trying* to help you.

Copy and paste works fine for me. I tried it copying web pages using
Firefox, Opera, and Safari. Pasting them into OpenOffice.org 3.1.0
pasted the whole web page. (30 some pages from my test site.
