 Martha,
Well, thank you many bunches for the offer of
fully-cooked and spicy lower extremities from random
 chickens!
If possible, try to separate the left legs and
thighs from the right legs and thighs, as some picky members
prefer one side over the other. I think it has something
to do with altered states of reality on odd-numbered
 days.

I am sure all will be pleased the addition of
some tasty food from your kitchen.
Would you like to serve the pieces/parts warm?
If yes, I have a new, never used, food warmer that uses
 Sterno for heating.
It is a big aluminum tray with a wire frame support.
Let me know and I will have it at SH by noon on Saturday.
I'll try to find some cans of Sterno or bring a bag of
 wood sticks to burn.

BTW, I set aside a dozen or so empty glass bottles for you
to recycle. All are in a pile on the new sink in the new
kitchen area. They were left over from the festivities
 last Saturday.
A little late, but I wanted to thank you for the
ride to west Akron the other day. I appreciate your
generosity and time. I hope it was not too much out of
 your way.

 See you this weekend!

Also, in addition to the earlier suggestion. Looking further into the
easiest and most efficient manner to build it I came across the idea of
actually building in the theme of the prize. We could essentially build a
LulzBot Taz from our printer to try and win a printer. The Taz has a very
simple and easy structure to it, and I believe all the parts could be
printed outside of the guide rods and the servos/accompanying belts.
Regardless of the outcome, after building the Quine we could publish the
prints and donate a few to surrounding schools to try and stir curiosity
 with our Youth.

If anyone is interested in this idea lets throw some ideas around. I have
some uncertainties in the programmatic side of it, but the structural side
will be fairly simple, even considering the means. Or at least one can
 think so initially

Just throwing the idea out, but what if we just made one out of the
preexisting one, buying only the electronics and parts we cannot make? This
would be a creative solution to the contests requirements and would also
stir curiosity with the simple, self redundant nature of it. Everybody
likes a Quine, right? The project could stir publicity, inspire, cut cost,
as well as a few other aspects, and most of all possibly bring in a top of
the line 3D printer that could be used for some serious custom part
 manufacturing.

I would think that the biggest obstacle would be the time required to
print all of the parts required, seeing as the printer is sort of slow? The
only money in would be the servos, connecting belts, and possibly some push
rods, *IF* they cannot be printed or alternative solutions constructed. I
am thinking this would be a fairly simple project given the skeletal
structure is pretty simple. Though, most of the aspects will depend upon
the limitations of the current 3D printer. EG. Maximum print
lengt/distance, accuracy of detail and intricacy, and those are about the
only two I think of. Outside of those limitations, I see no major
preventative. Even the length issue could possibly be overcame by making
the pieces individually and gluing them together with some of the same
material, depending upon the structural strength of the product of such a
 procedure.

Just a suggestion for conversation and the 3D printer.

 Sincerly, Tomm Smith
 God bless

Except a number of them that are different colors pointing to different

whiteboard or chalkboard paint on small sections of them for easy
 relabeling
 in the future.

As long as they're just frames that are getting hung like a normal frame, I

 Hello everyone,

At the meeting on Tuesday, there was apparently some misunderstanding about
the legality of our credit union holding our $15,000 deposit for a period of
time.  I have done some research, and have found the following information:

First, everyone needs to be aware that we use a credit union, not a bank, as
our financial institution.  Specifically, SYN/HAK is a member of BFG Credit
Union, headquartered in Akron.  As such, the regulations that apply to banks
and bank customers do not entirely apply to us.

Second, the Expedited Funds Availability Act of 1987 classifies our deposit
of $15,000 as a “Large Deposit”, which means that over $5,000 was deposited
in one day.  The federal regulations for requiring fund availability on
deposits above $5,000 is $5,000 on the second business day, and the remainder
 on the 7th business day.

Keep in mind, I’m not an expert on the financial industry by any means.  I
have just gone and done a bit of Googling to try to figure this out and make
sure we weren’t getting screwed.  In my personal opinion, we aren’t.

Yeah, I'm still not sure why a hold is an issue since we aren't spending any of
it within 10 days.

  committee
concerned about the growth of SYNHAK.

 Technically, they have no authority.

Realistically, champions have been called the leaders of SYNHAK, benevolent
dictator for life, presidents, directors, and many other titles that imply
 some kind of authority.

Consider also the situation of a champion taking over another officer's job
while they're still on the CWG. Suddenly they are on the CWG and have actual
 powers.

Re: [SH-Discuss] Meeting minutes from 2014-02-25

2014-02-27 Thread a l
My understanding of the working group was that they would come up with
plans to suggest to the board and members as to hope to allocate funds.
This doesn't require a proposal since each disbursement would be a proposal
or board action.

Perhaps I misunderstood the intent though.

If thats a proposal, perhaps Justin would like to send it to discuss@ so we
can discuss how it would work.

You can't just bring up during a meeting I propose FOO and never follow up
on it. What good is a proposal if the proponent doesn't work to push it
through and achieve consensus?
