Re: [ACFUG Discuss] using cf to get data from outlook's business contact manager
I think there may be licensing restrictions with the express edition. Not sure though. ap On Feb 8, 2007, at 10:31 AM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have it installed with my Outlook and there shouldn't be any reason that you couldn't setup a DSN and treat it like any other SQL db. RE: [ACFUG Discuss] using cf to get data from outlook's business contact manager
I think I'm going to explore it soon. First I have to get the Business Contact Manager working correctly in my outlook as there seems to be some kind of coruption so anytime I try to add a new contact or account, I get this Can't intialize form message in the window. Have tried numerous trouble shooting including support with no luck. I guess I will have to re-install. Was hoping to avoid it. After I get it all going, I'll try to come back to this discussion and share the experience. Sounds like a good idea for this. Was this export done via PS or on the application/ db side? [ACFUG Discuss] DWMX8 RDS and CFMX7
Hi all: Back at it again. In trying to host the WACK group last week we basically got stuck on: the RDS login in the DB setup. I have this error that wont go away. The server name or address could not be resolved. Possible reasons: 1. The URL specified for the site's testing server may be incorrect: http://blah http://blah 2. The testing server may be incorrectly configured (for example, ColdFusion may not be running). CF runs, I can get into the CF7 Administrator just fine. All that make sence is that maybe the SITE needs its Remote Info set somehow. It was working at one time now all the sudden it is not. I dont know if it was previously configured or not but it is now at NONE. I assume that RDS is what I want. My laptop needs to go to a remote server. So I assume RDS? I just tried Local/Network and it did not make a difference. I can however choose from: None, Local/Network, WebDAV, RDS, and Visual SourceSafe. Any ideas on what is breaking, why, and how to fix it? This seems to have happened a few times during my learning curve with DW, and CF. Help please. Im so frustrated AGAIN... lol. Robert P. RE: [ACFUG Discuss] DWMX8 RDS and CFMX7
Robert's referring to Dreamweaver, for those who can't tell. Robert, whether you need to setup the remote server of the site or just the testing server depends on whether you are connecting to your local version of CF on the same machine that's running DWMX. I run that way, and I have none for remote server. In testing server, the server model should be CF, and the access is local/network, and the testing folder should be set for where your web server root is. Finally, the URL prefix should have whatever would precede the part that says /cfide/adminisrator. For me, that's http://localhost. For you, that may need a port. Check out the DW help for Setting the Testing Server category options. But if your'e saying your CF server is remote from your laptop, then perhaps you do need your Remote server tab filled in. I've not used that for a long while. See the DW help for Setting the Configure Server dialog box options for RDS. I will point out as well that you don't NEED to use a site to use RDS. See the DW help for Setting up Dreamweaver to work without defining a site. /Charlie http://www.carehart.org/blog/ _ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Reil Sent: Thursday, February 08, 2007 10:51 PM To: discussion@acfug.org Subject: [ACFUG Discuss] DWMX8 RDS and CFMX7 Hi all: Back at it again.
