RE: [ACFUG Discuss] Coldfusion 7 HTTP 500 error
Yes, to be clear, the 500 error typically just means a CF page had an error. Could be something simple like that. There was a time in the past when CF pages with errors returned 200 status codes, since the CFML error page was indeed "valid" HTML, but that confused some tools (especially monitoring and load testing tools) which would then "ignore" a page with an error (since it returned a 200, which means "ok"). So CF changed (can't recall quite when) to make it be that the default for CF error pages would be to return a 500. This is controllable in the CF Admin on the first settings page. /charlie From: ad...@acfug.org [mailto:ad...@acfug.org] On Behalf Of Ajas Mohammed Sent: Monday, January 19, 2009 12:27 PM To: discussion@acfug.org Subject: Re: [ACFUG Discuss] Coldfusion 7 HTTP 500 error Thanks Michael, turns out, there was some issue with a query. Do you have debugging turned on in the CF control panel, make sure you have robust reporting set to on. This should show the error.
