RE: [ACFUG Discuss] OT: SQL Tools for MSSQL & MySQL
Going back to this note from last week, I hear your pain, Clint, about how some java-based tools can leave one hanging if not familiar with its ins and outs. Shame on the vendor for leaving you to figure this out, let alone then have to write it up yourself to show people how to use their tool. :-) That said, and FWIW, I'd add that if the JAVA command would run from your command line, then it seems likely that you could just have double-clicked the jar file in your windows explorer (my computer) while viewing your desktop (or wherever one had saved it), or perhaps at least only have to right-click it and choose "java" for "open with". Hope that helps someone. /charlie _ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2007 11:30 AM To: discussion@acfug.org Subject: RE: [ACFUG Discuss] OT: SQL Tools for MSSQL & MySQL Nevermind, I got it installed. Open command window: Start->Run type: cmd then click OK. RE: [ACFUG Discuss] OT: SQL Tools for MSSQL & MySQL
Interesting. I downloaded and unzipped the jar but can't find the file to either install it or run it. Per their instructions: "On Windows, execute the file squirrel-sql.bat to run the application." I can't find any such file. Did you have any luck? Are you running this on Windows and how?
