Yes, it is fixed. Package updates for exim4 now available on beowulf box

[DNG] exim4 packages 4.92-8+deb10u6 in beowulf-security?

2021-05-06 Thread Thomas Besser via Dng

Hi,

asked this already in IRC on #devuan, but perhaps some devs are reading
this here.

Fixing 21Nails
(https://blog.qualys.com/vulnerabilities-research/2021/05/04/21nails-multiple-vulnerabilities-in-exim-mail-server)
in exim4 seems to be urgent.

Debian buster-security has already exim4 4.92-8+deb10u6 according
https://tracker.debian.org/media/packages/e/exim4/changelog-4.92-8deb10u6

beowulf-security for amd64/i386 lacks this critical update:
https://pkginfo.devuan.org/cgi-bin/policy-query.html?c=package=exim4

But why?

Thomas

Devuan did provide "netboot.tar.gz" in the past. Please have a look in
the archive of this list: https://lists.dyne.org/lurker/list/dng.en.html
and search for "netboot" or "netboot.tar.gz".

I would also like to see installation method with pxe/netboot for
devuan. In the past some people around here build unofficial netboot
packages.

But these packages for jessie/ascii do not work anymore because of
divergence between package and repository (tested yesterday).

Please give short information on the list, when the big issues with the

"Trigger for libc-bin" was misleading.

The package "needrestart" has faulty configuration in Debian Jessie
(https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=811177#57).

Upgrade of package "tzdata" today. Here the result:

* The 3 productive machines got the same error as before.

On the upgraded (debian wheezy -> devuan jessie) vm with only basic
packages I could not reproduce this error.

Conclusion: it has something to do with a package, which is installed in
the 3 machines and not on the basic one.

I will try to diff the installed packages lists...

With the same result on upgrading packages, like today:

No one else has this problem on upgrading from debian wheezy to devuan
jessie?

Where can I find those 'trigger' scripts in Debian/Devuan?
https://wiki.debian.org/DpkgTriggers says nothing about that.

Purging package 'libc-bin' and reinstalling seems not to be a really
good idea on a productive system ;-)

Any hints how to solve this issue?

[DNG] Error after upgrade debian wheezy to devuan jessie...

2017-06-16 Thread Thomas Besser
Hi,

upgraded two file server last week from debian wheezy to devuan jessie.
Nearly everthing worked smooth on upgrading.

Something is wrong with 'libc-bin'. On each operation with apt-get I'm
getting following error:

The following packages will be upgraded:
  libgcrypt20
1 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/393 kB of archives. After unpacking 0 B will be used.
(Reading database ... 49511 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack .../libgcrypt20_1.6.3-2+deb8u3_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking libgcrypt20:amd64 (1.6.3-2+deb8u3) over (1.6.3-2+deb8u2) ...
Setting up libgcrypt20:amd64 (1.6.3-2+deb8u3) ...

Global symbol "$fn" requires explicit package name at (eval 6) line 94.

Any hints to solve this issue?

Tried "apt-get install --reinstall libc-bin" without success.

Thomas

P.S.: Same error occurs on both machines.

[DNG] Renew netboot installer image...

2016-11-21 Thread Thomas Besser
Hi,

I'm used to install linux systems via PXE/TFTP installation. Therefore
the 'netboot.tar.gz'
is mandatory.

Unfortunately this image is no longer working because of the change of
the release key signature in October
(https://git.devuan.org/devuan-packages/devuan-keyring/issues/15).

On installing 'the base system' debootstrap stops with error: Invalid
Release signature (key id 94532124541922FB).

Please renew the installer netboot image so the new release key is
integrated in it.

Never thought about the meaning of DNG, perhaps I'm using it over NNTP &

But I like the reinterpretation "Debian Next Generation".

Yes, I prefer always gmane before registering to a ML.

Can not found 'devuan-discuss' in gmane. Perhaps one more reason why it
had not so much traffic!?

Yes, you are right. I got quick answer and account after using
http://www.friendsofdevuan.org/contact/

P.S.: Self registering was stopped because of spamming problems.

Started generating my own image with arm-sdk.

In which git source I should post issues? git.devuan.org or github.com?
Why are existing both sources?

BTW I started a wiki entry for "Devuan on Raspberry Pi" for collecting
informations for others. From time to time I will add my efforts there.

Perhaps others on this list will add their informations there too.

New Raspis are on the way to me home ;-)

Where can I find some starting stuff for Devuan on RPi?
