That works, but it's cumbersome. ;-) You can create indexterms
(semi)automatically:

 http://doccookbook.sf.net/html/en/dbc.structure.adding-indexterms.html

I used this approach and it helps to create consistent index entries.

Trust you generated the index as you desired.

You likely read Bob's piece on special indexes

What I left out was the following:

Individuals

However, I have found that this does not work with all versions of the
docbook stylesheets.

Hi all,

Can anyone give a starter on how to create and /Index of People/ and 
/Index of Organizations/ in 5.1?


I know that I can wrap an  indexterm type=people around the person 
tag in the source file but wondered if the Index could be created 
without the extra XML tagging.
