We used to be on Talk Talk and the connection and reliability were perfect. We changed back to BT, the connection Good Connection ratio is down to about 10% and the once the whole handshaking bit has been successfull, the d/l spedd etc are often very poor and the connection often times out and the session aborts. I rarely get a good connection etc. On Talk Talk the line quality meant I had no troubles at all and everything Flew.. Rgds Ken PS. I remember once remarking to a BT engineer that we were getting better performance than we expected out of a new leased line. He promptly went out to the green box in the street and fixed that. Never heard of them going the other way. Biggest improvement in performance would be to get BT off the line. When my ISP (AA) moved me from BT-wholesale to TalkTalk-wholesale we nearly trippled our download speed. From sub 4Mb and falling to over 10Mb. Same piece of copper, to the same exchange. -- Bob Dunlop -- Next meeting: Bournemouth, Tuesday, 2014-02-04 20:00 Meets, Mailing list, IRC, LinkedIn, ... http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ New thread on mailing list: mailto:dorset@mailman.lug.org.uk How to Report Bugs Effectively: http://goo.gl/4Xue
