Re: [DQSD-Users] DQSD and Windows XP SP2
Hi Mitchell, OK I figured it out. Because I have 3 monitors when the task bar is on the bottom in its standard position its way too wide, I can hardly reach over to get to the Quick Launch. >> works with Dave's. But I have the task bar set vertically on the left side of the screen and in that case the >> is not at the bottom of the search window. Bug? Ah, I see... Actually, I think that's a feature :) Whether the >> (chevron?) is displayed or not is controlled by the showbutton and clocklongwidth settings, as per: /* Show the menu '>>' popup button? * 0 = never * 1 = always * 2 = if search bar width is greater than clocklongwidth [default] */ showbutton = 2; I suspect it works this way in order not to steal input space from people who have the taskbar docked vertically, like yourself. Anyway, you can always set showbutton to 1 in your localprefs.js, or just use F1 while in the search window, to popup the menu. RE: [DQSD-Users] DQSD and Windows XP SP2
Please don't take me for a turncoat. I use Dave's, and not the two products I'm about to mention--but for your dad, the Google Deskbar (I don't mean the Google taskbar) and the Firefox browser each have a least *a little* of the functionality of dqsb. Perhaps one of those would be "slick" enough to appeal to Dad. -- Paul > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:dqsd-users- > [EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of James Robertson > Sent: Sunday, September 05, 2004 4:54 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [DQSD-Users] DQSD and Windows XP SP2 > > Kim - > > I hadn't appreciated the DQSD architecture issues, > especially with it already being hosted by the taskbar > process.
