Yikes, I come back from lunch and it appears you've solved the problem. I'll try your fix later and report back if I get a chance. [DQSD-Users] Note.xml?
I just did a fresh install (3.1.8) and noticed that note.xml isn't included in the latest version. When I put the old note.xml in and try to use it, I get an error when I type "note" by itself with nothing after it: Error occurred on script DQSD\search.htm Line 12 Char 5 Unspecified Error If I type "note testing123" it successfully updates the txt file with the information. I'm using Firefox as my default browser. Could this have something to do with it? I'll be happy to troubleshoot further if necessary. -Tony --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools! [DQSD-Users] New Outlook Task Command
Hi, I'm a big fan of the email command, and am interested in doing something similar for new tasks in Outlook. The following will bring up a new task box (in Outlook 2003): outlook.exe /c ipm.task But I have no idea how to make that into something where I could type in to DQSD: Task doctor's appt on Tuesday And it would automatically populate the new task with the info. Any ideas? -Tony --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Oracle 10g Get certified on the hottest thing ever to hit the market... Oracle 10g. RE: [work] Re: [DQSD-Users] FW: [DQSD-Devel] Disabled searches
Shawn, Would you consider sharing your local aliases file with us so we can get some ideas on more creative ways to use the toolbar. :-) I too really depend on the toolbar, but I'm sure that there are many things I should use it for that I don't currently. Hall [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2004 12:55 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [work] Re: [DQSD-Users] FW: [DQSD-Devel] Disabled searches Hi Monty, > ...It would seem that development and discussion on the > toolbar has been abandoned. Things that were once being > discussed as design changes, fixes etc. haven't been > mentioned in months... DQSD HAS NOT BEEN ABANDONED. I'm sorry!!! I started 'moving' from Detroit to Chicago then to CA about 3 months ago - in the mean-time it all hit the fan and I haven't had ANY time to even read my email. I'm catching up now, but am using a horrifically SLOW dial-up connection (*when* it works) and DSL was pushed back until th 6th - so I won't even have a 'real' connection for another week. DQSD HAS NOT BEEN ABANDONED. Even if nobody else is interested in it, I WILL be continuing work on DQSD - developing new features and stomping bugs - as long as I have any interest in the JavaScript language (which will probably be a VERY long time). I use DQSD for almost everything I do now: loading programs locally (instead of the start menu); performing common tasks (anything that can be controlled via a command-line); and of course - I also use it to search for things online - but that's really become a secondary function for me. DQSD is everything from my scratch pad to my windows explorer view - I *need* it to use Windows. Also, I'm using a Mac at work now (not by choice, but at least it's OSX - so there IS hope), and I intend to create a port of DQSD to Linux at some point in time. That way I can use it for all those menial tasks both at work and at home. It'd be nice to be the first tool of this kind to breach the OS-barrier, too. I also intend to make a trimmed down version of DQSD that can be run COMPLETELY from a regular browser window - so someday you may hit dqsd.net and be able to 'run' DQSD without even having it installed. > ...there are certain capabilities of the toolbar that I > personally cannot do without which are yet to be delivered > with other competing toolbars with active development. Exactly. DQSD is far ahead of the game. However, it still has some issues that need corrected, and I will be working on those as soon as I have a reliable (heck, I'd probably even settle for unreliable right now - as long as I had a 1 in 5 chance of getting online when I tried) connection I'll resume active participation in the community. RE: [DQSD-Users] Google's deskbar and miniviewer
I'm a fan of a GUI to change the settings. Having them all in one place rather than in several different xml files would be more convenient and less confusing for most people. The mini-viewer is well done as well. Maybe there's a way to call the google deskbar miniviewer instead of recreating one? I won't be switching anytime soon, as I've become quite attached to DQSD and love being able to create custom searches. Tony -Original Message- From: Shawn K. Hall [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 9:15 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [DQSD-Users] Google's deskbar and miniviewer Hi Dennis, > > There seems to be some interest in introducing some of > > the googlebar features into DQSD and I'm looking for > > the cheap and easy way to do it. > > Good luck. Without access to thier source, that may be > an issue. If the major features are simply the mini-viewer and the keyboard shortcuts it's actually relatively simple. The only other thing that looks appealing to me from the googlebar is the settings screen, which could be recreated, as well. Is there anything else that people desire from the googlebar? [DQSD-Users] XML code to open search in specific Browser?
Hi, I'm trying to make the switch from IE to Mozilla, and one of my searches doesn't like Mozilla. Is there a way to add XML code to make this one particular search open in IE? If not, can I submit my code for some to look at to see why it's not working? The search inputs a Dell computer serial number (service tag) into Dell's support website so that I can quickly get warranty/support info about different computers.
