Hi ya'll

just developed a feeback problem with the TR-4. With mic key off I can blow
into the mic and hear it in the speaker. ..and not be keying the Radio.
Press the mic and the feedback really comes through plus my audio. I have
adjusted the VoX and antivox...nothing. And I tried the TR-4 nmic on the
twins and no problem. And switched the twins mic to the TR-4 and the same
feed back problem is there wuts up?

Thanks

Dale,
The TR-4 relay is prone to problems with dirty contacts since it is not
enclosed. Verify the relay contact continuity in the transmitt position. Be
careful not to over do it if you find you need to tweak the contacts to make
reliable connection. You can usually troubleshoot the relay with an ohm
meter, power off, and press the relay closed with a pencil.

I agree with you regarding the memoryless TO keyer. It is
 unforgiving.

In addition to the HA-1 (which is a fine keyer IMO), I also have
an EICO-717, the latter of which is giving me trouble. The first dah
gets shortened to a dot, and keying e.g. a full stop or any other
succession of alternating dits and dahs results in almost random
characters. Is it my inaptitude or (hopefully) a known '717 problem?
