I was told the item had never been used. Yes it is old but its god.

Do we really care about this?? I've never seen this much attention given to an
item that is misrepresented at a HamFest ...

If you want to buy it, then bid. Otherwise, get over it.

Sure we care dude!  We are 'into' vintage Drake radio equipment.  When we see
something stupid on e-Bay it causes a reaction by those who are in the know.

If you can't handle that, then get over it.

There is another R-4B on e-Bay in mint (or whatever) condition.  I guess so,
once you get past the rust, the dings and the dents.

This is all great fun!

[drakelist] TR7 Parts

2008-07-15 Thread David Chris Drake
Fellas, aside from the R4B blatant false advertizing that has taken up so much
air time, I see that a pair of side trim panels for a TR7 has been bid up to
$45 with several minutes to go on epay. I continue to be amazed at how demand
can run prices up. I'm now convinced that owning any Drake radio is an
investment. So, next time your xyl says too many black boxes, just say you own
them for her benefit, not yours. That ought to keep them quiet.or at least
cause for pause.

Good investing !! and 73's

Funny thing about it is that one of our list members offers brand-new
repros of the side panels for $5/pr !

1st-rate pieces as well.

Go figure.
