[Drakelist] A bit of shack cleaning - L7s, MN75s, WH7s, etc
I've decided to pare things down a bit here and am looking to sell both of my L7s, an MN75 and several of my WH7s. The amps are in great cosmetic shape, come with tubes but will require a PSU recapping. Was going to upgrade them with the Harbach boards but life gets in the way of projects. Thus, something for their new owner(s) to perform. The MN75 and the WH7s are also in great shape and work well. If you're interested in any of this equipment and want additional details, pictures, prices and shipping information, please contact me off-list. Thanks - 73 Fred, N8YX ___ Drakelist mailing list Drakelist@zerobeat.net http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
Re: [Drakelist] R7 receiver
I currently own two of the 'FCC-spec' R7s. As built by Drake. The dual BNCs on the rear (along with the IF buffer board) were added at the factory on special order. Each BNC connector has silk-screened lettering underneath that indicates its function. This also matches the rest of the rear-panel lettering. The stick-on label on the set that is up for auction doesn't appear to be 'Drake OEM'. Nor does that dimmer control. Neither of mine have it, and the knob doesn't appear to be 7-line OEM style. Appears that someone besides Drake modded it. 73 - Fred, N8YX. ___ Drakelist mailing list Drakelist@zerobeat.net http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
[Drakelist] SPF-796 substitute
Does anyone have a cross-reference for this JFET? It was used in the RV75 and the 4245's VRTO, among others. Just bought the last two pairs which Jon Kriner had and need several more pairs - or an equivalent. [Drakelist] R4245 service info, TR7 Carrier/PBT/RF gain knobs needed
Greetings, Does any list member have a copy of the service manual for an R4245? I'm specifically looking for details regarding the synthesizer section: VRTO %N/Mixer and VCO boards, Audio/VRTO buffer board and the optical encoder/analog readout assembly. Schematics and parts lists would be most beneficial. Also looking for a few Carrier Level/PBT/RF Gain outer knobs as used on the TR7/R7. Thanks and 73 to all. [Drakelist] Dim DR7 readout
Greetings all, I have an R7 which exhibits an interesting problem: The digital readout is dim. Significantly dimmer than my other 7-line equipment. Readable, but dim. It doesn't matter which DR7 is installed (I have a couple of spares for test purposes). Thus, the problem would seem to lie within the receiver itself and not the DR7. So far, I've checked the 7805 which supplies +5V to the readouts (4.90v; looks good). I've checked P4 1-4 to verify +12v (check) and ground (0.1 ohm to chassis; measured). All of the DR7s I have work properly (with bright readouts) in any chassis besides this particular receiver. Thoughts/suggestions? Thanks! Re: [drakelist] Pondering RF Feedback (TR7/SP75)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- I have also grounded my speech processors and other audio peripherals in this fashion. Additiionally, Drake published a bulletin regarding the bypassing of the PS7's AUX 12v output connector with a .01uF disk cap. (This was noted to be of concern when powering an SP75 from the PS7.) All of my PS7s have been thusly equipped...and have had no RF feedback problems since. 73 - Fred, N8YX -- Submissions:drakelist@zerobeat.net Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net --
[drakelist] Need MS7 label strip and 7-line knobs
[EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- Picked up at Dayton what I THOUGHT was a very nice MS7 speaker...but...on closer inspection, it turns out that persons unknown substituted the metal MS7 label strip with a paper version which appears to have been printed on a color inkjet printer. Anyone have one of label strips? Failing that, do you have an MS7 that is really, really beat up - but with a good strip? Sell it to me for parts. Also missed the guy who was selling TR7/R7 concentric knobs last year...the ones used CAR Level, RF Gain and PBT controls, for example. Need some of these. Re: [drakelist] Parting out radios
[EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- Why is e-Bay a dirty word...loathed by some...let's see: I've watched discussions involving that word degenerate to the point that list moderators have actually removed people from those lists. Obviously, some folks simply cannot exercise adequate self-control when participating in such an exchange. Such actions are to the detriment of those who CAN, of course. But all it takes is two (or more) out-of-control individuals to wreck a reflector; thus, guidelines which appear to some to be overly stringent are emplaced... -- Submissions:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net --
Re: [drakelist] Parting out radios
[EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- Why does eBay allow CB linears to be advertised for sale? Simple: The sellers of such have figured if they word the ads carefully - including such verbiage as for 10M use only or terms to that effect - eBay won't touch them. This smacks of a support staff that is somewhat clueless to what is legal and what isn't. If the FCC were to severely penalize eBay and its board of directors for violating federal law in carrying such items for sale...you would see the practice stop very quickly. -- Submissions:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net --
Re: [drakelist] Parting out radios
[EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- Isn't that the truth. Each side of the argument has its pros and cons...it's nice to be able to find all of the parts one needs to restore an incomplete or cosmetically imperfect set, but if the fix is simple then why part the donor rig out in the first place? And who would have ever imagined a CW75 fetching north of $350? Either the shills are hard at work or there are some collectors out there who are willing to pay ANY price to say I won! I don't suppose anyone on this list has a good R7 front panel they would be willing to part with? I got hold of a receiver which might be classified as a parts donor by some...yet with a little cosmetic TLC and some time spent with a soldering iron, I think I can bring this one back. Would rather see it on the air than on the 'Bay...
