Re: [dspace-tech] possible (very minor) bug in DSpace 5.5

2016-07-26 Thread Tim Donohue

Hi Chris,

This sounds like it may be this known bug:

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-3244

There's a Pull Request that is supposed to fix the issue. If you (or
someone else) is interested in helping us test these changes, we always
appreciate the feedback.

If you go to an item that doesn't exist, for example,
https://uwspace.uwaterloo.ca/handle/10012/105932, the breadcrumb link
to "UWSpace Home" (with the house icon beside it) doesn't go back to
the home page; it points back to the URL that causes the error.

I can confirm that other sites are affected by this.

Hi Chris,

That is the point, the links are working for me, it is weird. Should be
something else, I guess.

In each of the pages I pointed out there are two links back to the home
page. One above the "page cannot be found" message and one below it. The
one below works. The one above comes back to the error page.

Weird, beside the exception highlighted by Tom, I could go back to the

Re: [dspace-tech] possible (very minor) bug in DSpace 5.5

2016-07-26 Thread Tom Desair
Another bug in this page is that this is not the actual "Page not found"
page as generated by the PageNotFound transformer (
https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace-xmlui/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/xmlui/aspect/general/PageNotFoundTransformer.java#L43),
but just an exception page (hence the "Java stacktrace:
org.apache.cocoon.ResourceNotFoundException: Page cannot be found").

You can see this by looking at the messages defined in the transformer
compared to the messages you get in the UI. This also prevents
internationalisation of the "Page Not Found" page.

[dspace-tech] possible (very minor) bug in DSpace 5.5

2016-07-26 Thread Chris Gray
I just discovered something that doesn't work in our instance of DSpace
5.5. We are using xmlui with Mirage2, so I don't know if it is only a bug
in that particular interface.

If you go to an item that doesn't exist, for example,
https://uwspace.uwaterloo.ca/handle/10012/105932, the breadcrumb link to
"UWSpace Home" (with the house icon beside it) doesn't go back to the home
page; it points back to the URL that causes the error.

I can confirm that other sites are affected by this.

http://www.oceandocs.org/handle/1834/917388
http://cardinalscholar.bsu.edu/handle/123456789/2002778

Some aren't.

Notice that in this very first message that you report, DSpace is already
shutting down. The error had already happened. We need to see further up
the log in order to know what failed. Ant logs hundreds of lines during an
install, and the information needed is often nowhere near the end of the
log.

This is helpful. IF you are installing the current development version of
DSpace, then that line is invoking the database schema migration tool.
That would indicate some problem with the database. It could be a mismatch
of credentials between the DSpace configuration and the DBMS. But it would
be helpful if you would tell us what version of DSpace you are installing,
so that we can be certain that we are reading the same version of the file
that you are using.

Total time: 16 seconds
>

This short runtime indicates that the install failed very early, which also
suggests problems with the database.

Re: [dspace-tech] Dspace General Statistics Show data 0

2016-07-26 Thread Monika Mevenkamp
DSPACE stats reports are built from the data that is saved in the statistics
solr core (by default)

Configurations are described at
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/SOLR+Statistics#SOLRStatistics-ConfigurationsettingsforStatistics

By default the solr interface is configured to run at
http://localhost:8080/solr

You can test from the command line on your DSPACE installation server whether
the stats core contains any events by running:

wget http://localhost:8080/solr/statistics/select?q=*:*

or you can use your browser to access the solr admin ui at
http://your.server.xx:8080/solr(provided port 8080 is open to you)

If there are no events in the statistics solr core there is something wrong
with the event logging.

[dspace-tech] DSpace 5.5 LDAP group-map with DSpace group setting not working

2016-07-26 Thread JAI KUMAR
Hi

Can anyone help me or tell about LDAP group-map with DSpace group
configuration.

I have tested DSpace LDAP settings with testing Apache DS server. I have
created a partition in Apache DS and add two User:

ldap partition: ou=Students
Add two member this group:uid=use1,ou=users,ou=system AND
uid=use2,ou=users,ou=system

Creating a group in DSpace as "Group1" and this group assign as submitter
to Collecion1

Configure LDAP group-map set with DSpace group Group1:
login.groupmap.1 = ou=Students:Group1

LDAP Authentication is working properly (user log-in and authenticated but
as Anonymous user).
According LDAP configuration user is not able to submit in any collection.

I have also LDAP group-map setting test with DSpace 4.x and 3.x also but
not work.
