Re: [dspace-tech] Forcing users to use Shibboleth

2020-04-02 Thread George Kozak
Thanks, Mark:
That's what I did, but when I clicked on login, I got a "Page Not found"
message.
But, after you responded, I realized that the problem was that I don't have
Shibboleth installed on my dev machine!!!
I would like to chalk that up to cabin-fever, but I think it's old age
instead :-)
Thanks, again.
George

I would expect that if you exclude
org.dspace.authenticate.PasswordAuthentication from the values of
plugin.sequence.org.dspace.authenticate.AuthenticationMethod, password
login would not be offered.

The default configuration is found in 'config/modules/authentication.cfg'.
You can override this in config/local.cfg.

[dspace-tech] Forcing users to use Shibboleth

2020-04-02 Thread George Kozak
Hi,
We have DSpace 6.3 (XMLUI) and we currently offer people the ability to
login in with Shibboleth or with their DSpace account. We want to limit
logins to Shibboleth users. I have played around with this, but it hasn't
worked very well..
Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can accomplish this?

[dspace-tech] DSpace 6.3: where are the link references on the OAI page defined

2020-04-02 Thread David Hunt
I migrated our DSpace v5.4 installation to a new virtual machine running
v6.3. I did so last summer. I believed I had everything working until
last week when I was informed that OAI was not accessible.

We have our DSpace server accessed through another server running Apache
web server which redirects requests to the internal server running DSpace.
The requests come in as https://libraries.mercer.edu/ursa which is
rewritten to access the DSpaceserver. The various links on the regular
DSpace interface are set to include this as part of the link. So for
regular usage everything has been running as expected.

If you go to the page https://libraries.mercer.edu/ursa/oai you will
retrieve the page successfully but the various links on the page have the
form of https://libraries.mercer.edu/oai and therefore will not get
directed to the right place.

The very first link on the page titled “DSpace OAI-PMH Data Provider”
points to https://libraries.mercer.edu/ursa/oai# and has the text “Invalid
context” under it.

I have manipulated the various variables in the ./modules/oai.cfg file
without success.

I also tried modifying the tomcat configuration by both adding a link to
the directory call “ursa#oai” and adding a context line to the server.xml

Can someone please tell me where those links get these destination
defined?

I apologize in advance if this has already been answered. I spent much of
yesterday reviewing the threads on this forum and haven’t found a solution.

Re: [dspace-tech] ANNOUNCEMENT: DSpace 7.0 Beta1 Release is now available!

2020-04-02 Thread Bram Luyten
Hi Lucas,

this feature is there, but maybe you have experienced a bug or a problem
that has been addressed in the meanwhile?
On the current master branch, and later, in beta 1, this should definitely
work.

I recorded a small video to illustrate how creation of communities and
collections works in DSpace 7:
https://youtu.be/4aSgO9kt-kM

hope this helps !

Re: [dspace-tech] Orphaned files

2020-04-02 Thread Bram Luyten
Hi Bill,

normally the command line clean job would remove these type of orphan files
for you.
Have you tried this & are these files that are not even removed with
/bin/dspace cleanup ?

More on this:
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC5x/Storage+Layer#StorageLayer-Cleanup

cheers,

Bram
