Vertaile eri Garminin ja Magellanin malleja netissä ja käy koesuunnistamassa urheiluvälineliikkeen edustalla. Mun oma laite on kohta jo 10 v. vanha Garmin GPS12, mutta hyvin toimii vaikka joskus hidastelee eikä ole mitenkään tarkka. Tärkeimpiä ominaisuuksia tarkka näyttö ja laskentanopeus (siis miten pian näyttää uuden muuttuneen suunnan) ja toiminta metsässä (herkkä vastaanotin ja sopiva sisäinen antenni). Ja pitkä toiminta-aika pakkasessa. Itse käytän gps: ää negatiivisesti eli lähtiessäni vetämään antennia, asetan laitteen näyttämään suuntaa lähtöpisteeseen. Menosuunta on gps:n näyttämä plus 180 astetta. Tällä pääsee periaatteessa yhden asteen tarkkuuteen, kun taas eteenpäin näyttävän suuntanuolen tarkkuus on jotain +-3 asteen luokkaa. Vertaile eri Garminin ja Magellanin malleja netissä ja käy koesuunnistamassa urheiluvälineliikkeen edustalla. Mun oma laite on kohta jo 10 v. vanha Garmin GPS12, mutta hyvin toimii vaikka joskus hidastelee eikä ole mitenkään tarkka. Tärkeimpiä ominaisuuksia tarkka näyttö ja laskentanopeus (siis miten pian näyttää uuden muuttuneen suunnan) ja toiminta metsässä (herkkä vastaanotin ja sopiva sisäinen antenni). Ja pitkä toiminta-aika pakkasessa. Itse käytän gps: ää negatiivisesti eli lähtiessäni vetämään antennia, asetan laitteen näyttämään suuntaa lähtöpisteeseen. Menosuunta on gps:n näyttämä plus 180 astetta. Tällä pääsee periaatteessa yhden asteen tarkkuuteen, kun taas eteenpäin näyttävän suuntanuolen tarkkuus on jotain +-3 asteen luokkaa.
