 Hello Scott:

 1) You can't tell me what I have to door not to do. I1m
not trying to change your mind. I'm expressing my oppinion and I'm free to
 do that and NOBODY can
stop me to say what I think.
 2) I have already credited ALL ENTITIES on my
DXCC. I have already worked all them the good
ones and the bad ones. So I'm not complaining about the ones I don't
have
 because I have ALL THEM..
 3) I'm not going to find another hobby because I like this
one very much. And it's because I like it very much, that
I'm trying to make it better and fair.
 4) You are a very rude man. See a doctor.

The fact that Ed didn't get a bullet to the head is all the proof of
authorization needed. He had a beam antenna in a country where no
citizen
is even allowed access to the internet or long distance phone service.
If
 Ed
didn't have authorization, he wouldn't have made it out of the
country.
North Korea is a far different situation than anywhere else on Earth and
 if
you can't get past your petty jealousies to undestand that, then maybe
you
  should give up DXing.

Ed didn't need to produce a license, because there is no licensng body
in
North Korea, because there are no provisions for any civilian radio
 services
in North Korea at all. No commercial radio, no CB, no FRS, no TV and no
amateur radio. No radio services means no licensing body. Understand
this?
That's why Ed has no papers.

Quit complaining about the ones you don't have or the ones that you have
that don't count and work the ones that come along and hope they
 eventually
count. DXing isn't fair! Deal with it and move along or find another
 hobby.
  Just quit whining!

Yes Ron it should be good if the same criteria could be also used with
 the
P5 operations. No papers no credit.
If P5 was approved without papers why 7O1YGF need
to send any kind of papers to be accepted ?? That!s
the point in evidence here as far as I know. Did you or
anybody in this list ever saw any authorization, any licence any
papers
   from
North Korea authorities for any of the
   P5 operations ???

2005-03-08 Thread Charles Harpole
I went to a small US post office late in this Feb. and cashed in over 80 old
IRCs for .80 cent US stamps. there was a lot of consultation and book
reading before the transaction, but they did it. My thought is to get rid
of old ones asap.

2005-03-08 Thread Kelly Jones
I don't want to start any type of political war, but if I'm not mistaken I
believe Ed was asked to leave about the same time NK re-started it's nuke
program and political activies around that. I believe nearly ALL
non-nationals were expelled at that time.

I'd be willing to bet Ed's QRT had nothing to with the proper
authorities learning about his operation. I suspect it was because of
much more political reason.

 Scott..

 Ditto 7O1YGF

7O1YGF also meets your criteria. And yes, I have Ed's card too.
Ed went QRT when the proper authorities were notified of his
operation as far as I can tell. So did 7O1YGF.

I've just come across a Website called Hamstuff run by Ron W7NN, who say they
will purchase old IRCs. Visit www.hamstuff.com for further info. Many other
things of interest there as well!

See mail from W7NN below. I have bought some stuff from him in the past, good
business!

Jim:

I've got more than enough at the moment of the old style. The easiest way
to dispose of them is to exchange them at the Post Office for stamps at the
rate of $.80 each.

Hope that helps.
