[DX-CHAT] QSLing KH6
I recently worked a KH6 on 160 who, on his website, requests that QSLs go via his European manager. Now considering that he lives in the same country that I do it seems a bit much to request that I use an 84 cent airmail stamp and a GS or two or an IRC to get his card back. I realize that I should simply work another one but has anyone else encountered this issue? Re: [DX-CHAT] QSLing KH6
Thanks to everyone for their input. I've been in this game almost fifty years and this was a new problem. I should have stated that I in fact did QSL direct but after several months I've received nothing. I enclosed a GS plus an SASE figuring that working mainland stations can be a pain for KH6/KL7 so I'd give him an incentive to reply but I've gotten nothing. Maybe in the due course of QSLs I'll get it. Well, it's not as if it's BS7 or 7O. Thanks, everyone, and have a DX-filled New Year! Mike W2LO If u worked KH6ZM who has been active on 160M, Massimo he has I0MWI for a manager as he states. If you continue to read all of the info available he also has at the bottom of the page: QSL directley to my manager I0MWI. US/Canada stations may send direct to me. Bureau cards will be answerd as time permits. Sorry...no e-qsl's. [DX-CHAT] 30 Meter SSB QSO
For the past fifteen minutes I have been listening to an SSB QSO between two stations largely concerning boating, personal matters, etc. in English on 10.131 USB. I assumed they were just that-boaters. I was amazed, however, at the end of their contact that they both signed (non-US) ham calls using accepted phoenetics that you'd hear on our bands. Now they could have been pirating the calls but if they were pirates, why bother with calls? I know that this is an ITU issue, but are there any administrations worldwide that permit SSB on 30? RE: [DX-CHAT] 30 Meter SSB QSO
Thank you to the many individuals who replied. I always believed that SSB on 30 was virtually prohibited world-wide. While I've heard SSB on 30 before, I assumed that it was due to the fact that it's a shared band, pirates, etc. The QSO I heard was between two stations licensed by UK area administrations. This site is the place to come for information. Thanks again! [DX-CHAT] 7Q7RM Logs Closing
This was in the news in the Fall but is worth repeating. G0IAS (that's a zero), manager for Ron MacFarlane, 7Q7RM , who died last year has announced that he will permanently close the logs on Ron's many years of operation from Malawi later this year. If you need a card, I suggest you you contact him soon. Thanks, Ron, for the many years you played radio with us. 73.
