I want to register a protocol for an application putting it in
~/.config/url-dispatcher/urls. According to Ted, after running

  $ initctl start url-dispatcher-update-user

the url dispatcher database should be updated with the new protocol. But
that's not working.
It only works if I run /usr/lib/*/url-dispatcher/update-directory with the
path or my .url-dispatcher file.

To check the database after the update:

echo .quit | sqlite3 -batch -csv -cmd "select urls.protocol,
urls.domainsuffix, configfiles.name from urls, configfiles where
  urls.sourcefile = configfiles.rowid;" ~/.cache/url-

Bug description:
Problem occurs with: Ubuntu 14.10 r203
Does not occur with: iOS, Windows Phone

  1. In the clock menu, find the calendar app and launch it.
  2. In the Launcher or Dash, find the Calendar app.

  What you see:
  1. The icon always says "25", regardless of the actual date.
  2. The icon always says "28", regardless of the actual date.

  What you should see:
  1. The icon shows the current date.
  2. The icon shows the current date.

The equivalent for PC is bug 1362033, and for the Clock app is bug
  1362964.

This depends on bug 1453795 for Unity letting an app change its own
  icon.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1591342] Re: Complains about bad url on libertine scope urls

2016-09-20 Thread Tim Süberkrüb
Apologize for this misunderstanding, apparently this is - even though it
looked like it (at least to me) in the first place - not the cause for
the problem I mentioned. Thanks for clarifying.

I apologize for the misinformation (if that's the case).
But you pointed me to this bug on IRC
(https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2016/08/22/%23ubuntu-app-devel.html) :-)
I'm a bit confused now TBH.

Title:
Appmenu doesn't display shortcuts on QT programs

Status in appmenu-qt package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Shortcuts are not visible on QT based programs (Also affects Chrome and
IntelliJ IDEA), GTK programs show menus correctly for the most part.
  Problem:
The shortcuts DO work but you can't see them next to the menu item so you
have to rely on the HUD if you didn't knew the shortcut previously.

  Workaround:
If appmenu-qt and appmenu-qt5 are removed, menus are shown correctly.
  To remove appmenu-qt and appmenu-qt5:

  sudo apt remove appmenu-qt appmenu-qt5

Bug description:
Now that we've got a calendar in indicator-datetime in Unity 8, there
are a few features from Unity 7 that we should decide if/how we're
goint to handle in Unity 8.

  * Show Week Numbers
  * Highlight days of the month that include appointments
  * Unity tells indicator-datetime what calendar day has been clicked so that
the "upcoming appointments" list can be adjusted accordingly

These are currently implemented as fields in a GAction state
  dictionary and documented in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~indicator-
  applet-developers/indicator-datetime/trunk.15.10/view/head:/README ...
however that was all done for Unity 7, and IMO it would make sense to
improve the unity<->indicator API here so that Unity8 doesn't have to
deal with key-variant map GAction states.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1618886] Re: unity-gtk-module.service is racy; session services don't stop if session terminates

2016-09-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package upstart - 1.13.2-0ubuntu31

---
upstart (1.13.2-0ubuntu31) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * init/tests/test_conf.c: Disable previous check harder (on powerpc).

upstart (1.13.2-0ubuntu30) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * init/tests/test_conf.c: Disable check in "Invalid .conf file does not stop
ConfFile being serialised" test on powerpc, there is just no pleasing it
and the numerous build retries are unnerving.

upstart (1.13.2-0ubuntu29) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * debian/systemd-graphical-session.conf: Drop workaround for killing
gnome-keyring, this was fixed properly now.
  * debian/systemd-graphical-session.conf: Add missing $unit to systemctl show
call, so that the cleanup of failed units actually works. (LP: #1618886)
