[Dx4win] feature need

2005-06-05 Thread J ALBU
Hi

Need a way to have an AUTO LOG ON to Internet connection.
Maybe an option to enable this option. (Who wants, enable it. Who don't want
leave it as it is now).
It is very frustrating to have to connect step by step every time I open
DX4WIN.

Paul and Steve keep the good work...

Ah!!! I'm one of that guys ho got a new license for version 7...

73 and hope to have this feature on next release hihi

I have the RAC on C:\ and use the GOLIST set for F3 lookups and it
works OK for me.

[Dx4win] Next Sequence No

2005-06-05 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hi

It would be useful if, when in contest mode, the next
sequence number could be displayed somewhere in
the logging window. If you're not in the contest it's
difficult to keep track of where you are (hi).

Not a complaint and maybe not even a suggestion.

Bill

How did I manage to miss that?

I wonder what else I'm missing apart from some
sense.

Thanks

Bill, the contest number _is_ displayed in the logging window -- right above

[Dx4win] Update QSO from CD

2005-06-05 Thread Rod Ingram
Didn't I read here on the reflector recently that the team is aware it only
works with RAC and will be fixed during the next update.I know it works
great with RAC as that is what I use.

I have been using DX4WIN for several years and I believe this is the
greatest update we have ever received. It does everything this DXer wants a
logging program to do.

An alternative is to edit the dx4win.tcp file to move your favored site to
the top of the list. Then all you have to do bring up the site list and
click Connect; the first site is automatically selected.

It isn't automatic, but it saves the sometime lengthy step of hunting for
and selecting the site before you can connect to it.

And it's even easier than that. At least in later versions of 6.0x
(and of course 7.01), if you are not connected and type return,
DX4WIN will tell you that you are not connected, then type return
again (at the OK prompt) and the node list comes up.

So three returns and you are connected.

Love it and you are right Dusty... I do notice that if I click on enter
twice it will bring up the cluster I monitor which is VE7CC. Oh it is fun!

There is truly humor in ham radio It is quite evident that
I can't follow directions: Three Returns connected

I booted my computer my opening screen came up.
Down in the lower left hand corner is my DX4WIN icon.
I hit Return(enter key), nothing happens
 I type RETURN, nothing happens
I single click on the DX4WIN icon, nothing happens
 I hit enter DX4WIN opens.
Normally I put my cursor on the DX4WIN icon,
 double click and DX4WIN opens.
 AHA, part 1 success
I then hit return(enter key), nothing happens
I then type return, nothing happens
So, I hit the return(enter key) and it says Do you want to
save these changes? - yes or no - I hit no. Humm

Let's try the old way. - I expand my RTTY window and low and behold, I get
 a blank screen.
I hit the return(enter key) a screen says Telnet failed, no connection
 active - OK?
I click on OK and I'm back to the blank screen.
I try to type return but as soon as I type the R, that
same screen pops up that says Telnet failed - etc
I click on OK I'm back to the blank screen.
Again, let's try it the old way - right click on the blank
screen pick Internet connection from the list of
choices and single click on it.
Again, AHA! There is the list of stations for me to
choose to whom I would like to connect. - This is great!
(my favorite had been on top for 5 years.)
I hit return(enter key) and another screen comes up
that says connected to the station selected
Please enter your call - I hit return(enter key)
Invalid call appears - connection closed.
Whoops, I must have to type RETURN. I do so
nothing happens until I hit the (enter key) and again,
I get Invalid call - connection closed.
 What an exercise...
I try it again, but type in my call sign, then hit return and
 guess what?
I'm connected. I then shrink the screen I'm ready to
 go DXing.

JIM, where did I go wrong?

I have often thought how confusing it would be if someone wanted to
operate my station, I tried to explain How to open DX4WIN connect to
an internet node. I just sit here and chuckle to myself.

Now, if someone would tell me how to set up a macro so that hitting one
key would enter K3WC(with no RETURN)

No flames please, this was just for fun. Thanks for all the help Jim.
 73, Dusty

Richard, K5NA sent me his country file and this resulted in even more
new callsign exceptions. The latest list of changes is at:

   http://www.ad1c.us/dx4win/history.htm#21

I still have messages into K5NA and K2MFY about some of their
exceptions. New release still a week or two away.

[Dx4win] feature need

2005-06-05 Thread J ALBU
Jim and all

Jim tks fer your answer but I think I'm not explain exactly what I really
want.

Sorry for the bandwidth...

In N1MMLoggr we have an option to enable an AutoLogon to internet, and it
works... That's exactly what I want...
I don't want to click on any ''extra'' key of the key board... On any
key...
I want to click on DX4WIN icon ( .exe) and all the windows came up like a
magic exactly as it happens with N1MMLogger... ( all windows and internet
connation like a hell)
please Guys don't start a war with this... and don't shoot rocks ...
this is a serious ''feature need'' (for me of course)...
I think this ''need'' request is a good feature for the DX4WIN ...

Thanks guys have fun and good dx's...
