[Dx4win] MicroKeyer Win XP problems

2005-08-26 Thread Wes Attaway (N5WA)
I am using a homebrew computer with an ASUS MB, 2,8GHz Intel CPU,
SATAHD, etc with WinXP-Pro and have had no problems at all with
MicroHam, DX4WIN, and MMTTY.

I would suggest uninstalling the USB Device Router and unplugging the
USB cable to the MicroKeyer. Run for a day or two without any of that
stuff in play and see what happens. My guess is that something else is
wrong, but removing the suspected culprit will provide the answer.

Another thing you can do is go into WinXP Admin Tools and look at the
Event Logs. Look particularly at the Application log and the System log
to see if there are any clues as to what happened when the hang took
place.

If there are no relevant events then I would look at your SDRAM. If you
have more than one memory stick then unplug all but one and run that
way. If you still get a hang try the other sticks alone. If a
computer hangs without any event being recorded then you probably have
a bad memory stick or some kind of MB problem related to memory.

E-mail me direct if you want to discuss this further.

Subject: [Dx4win] MicroKeyer Win XP problems

I have recently put together a PC using an Asus V7A880 MB Asus Video
card
 1 MB of RAM.
It includes a Conexant modem, CD/DVD R/W drive and Serial ATA HD using
Win
XP Pro. I have put together many PCs in the past but none with the
problems
I have experienced with this one.

With XP and all the other compenents updated to the latest driver
release I
have had nothing but problems after the MK software was installed. The
PC
will arbitrarily hang, sometimes when not much is going on. The last
hang
was while I was moving the cursor with the mouse. Nothing much else was
going on. The modem is used because I have only dialup here. I am using
DX4Win and N1MM. I haven't even been able to try MMTTY yet.

I think all was well until the MK was installed but I have redone the
software so many time that I am no longer sure of the sequence of
events.

Has anyone had similar experience with a similar software setup and did
you
get it running? Any suggestions as to what to try? I am thinking of
going
back to Win2K.

TIA,

Les W2LK

[Dx4win] MMTTY IN DX4WIN

2005-08-26 Thread Jay Sewell
Credit goes to Bob, W5OV for the following.

Assuming you have MMTTY running stand-alone and correctly PTT keying the
transmitter and sending FSK when your rig is in rtty mode running through
the MicroKEYER.Get that set up first and running properly and then
don’t change anything in MMTTY. Then close MMTTY

Then the following Settings:

MicroKEYER
Virtual Port menu, create COM3 COM4 AND COM5
Device menu: load template for DX4WIN
   Then set
   Control COM3
FSK COM5
CW COM4DTR
PTT COM5 RTS
then Preset menu
Save as, and name it DX4WIN

A button will appear at the bottom that will allow you to recall the above
settings. You can do the same for MMTTY stand-alone or other programs you
use. If you make any further changes remember to save it again.

Differently numbered COM ports may be used but the numbers used above must
match those below.

 In DX4WIN
  File, Preferences,
Radio: Set radio type to your radio,
 COM port to COM3
Control, CW keying/PTT control
 Interface COM4
 DTR line CW keying
 RTS line PTT control
RTTY tab, RTTY Interface TYPE None
MMTTY at bottom set path to mmtty.exe
   Save settings

Open the MMTTY window within DX4WIN then from within MMTTY window hit Alt-S
which will call up a small window named MMTTY keying setup
Set PTT CONTROL and in key line click RTS
(Don’t set a COM port in this window)

It should run now..

 Subject: [Dx4win] MMTTY IN DX4WIN

I cannot transmit FSK with MMTTY inside DX4WIN. Receives fine. I am
trying to set up FSK through MicroKeyer. All I am able to get is keying of
the rig with a solid tone, no diddle, no transmission of data.

MMTTY works fine stand-alone and works fine with N1MMLogger through the
MicroKeyer, but MicroKeyer refuses to recognize MMTTY for transmission of
data from inside DX4WIN.

 Any suggestions?

 Thanks and 73,

Subject: [Dx4win] filter selection 746Pro
Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,
I have been using DX4Win 6.04 for quite a while with my IC-746Pro. It
works great when clicking on spots, and following the rig when I change
bands. It sets up splits properly also. However, I notice whenever I
do click on a spot, it will switch to the proper mode, but it alwasys
defaults to the second filter. Is there something in the rig file that
controls that? I am using the 746 rig file with an address of 66, and
baud rate of 19,200. I'm using Com 1 and rts is high. Any help would
be appreciated. Has anyone created a specific 746Pro rig file?

Hello list.

Anybody have experience with BV7?
1. I'm exporting my Dx4win log to ADIF for BV7
2. Printing on QSL's and mark QSO's - QSL received.
3. Export from BV7 to ADIF
4. From Dx4win importing ADIF file with option Imported QSO sets Conf.
flag
I got message 2259 confirmed QSOs were not found in the log - why ?
