[Dx4win] Question regardin QSLing

2009-10-17 Thread Franz Nieberding
Hi Hams
please apologize, but I have still my problems regarding qsling. I
would like to send every stn for the first mode / band QSO a qsl. So I choose DX
allband/mode. What I noticed is, that the domestic cards will not be marked.
What can I do that every new station gets a card? How can I include the
domestic DL stations?
Regards Franz, DK1II

[Dx4win] F2 functionality

2009-10-17 Thread LY2CX
Hello all.

Is this a bug ?

I have been using DX4WIN version 1.2 since 1996 - was very pleased with
this software and decided to upgrade to 8.02.
Now 8.02 version is installed.
I discovered that F2 key doesn't work as it should.
If go to Preferences F2 key and put a mark only for MARK QSO AS
CONFIRMED, If I use ( pres) F2 in the QSO window the software changes
Cnfm field to Y, but at the same time it changes Label filed to Y (means
for label printing) But the label printing has separate mark box in the
PreferencesF2 key setting menu and it's not marked.

[Dx4win] F2 Key operation not correct - V8.02

2009-10-17 Thread Dave Sharred
Blank
I saw a note earlier where someone was having problems with the F2 key
operation; just catching up on QSL chore; and I think I have found a bug
(=undesirable feature!)

In DX4Win 7.06.02 :
Preferences:
F2 Key has Mark QSO as confirmed box checked; Labels drop down set
to Y

Observed operation
Search QSO to be confirmed (F8)
Press F2, Label = Y, no QSL date set, Cnfm changes state to Y
So, correctly, DX4Win has flagged that the QSO is not confirmed, and
prepared a QSL for printing.

In DX4Win 8.02
Preferences :
F2Key has both Mark QSO as confirmed Mark for printing a Label
checked. (Set QSL date has no consequence for this issue)

Observed operation
Search QSO to be confirmed (F8)
Press F2 Key; Cnfm is set to Y immediately; and dialogue box says
QSO confirmed already, set label flag?
This operation should, and was previously automatic; it is not a repeat QSL!

Has anyone else spotted this; has it been reported yet ?

[Dx4win] rstS_rstR field entry when SSB

2009-10-17 Thread LY2CX
Lost a good feature in the v 8.02.

In the old version V1.2, when use Real-time ( F9) or Off-time entry and
SSB mode - rstS and rstR fields set to
two digit (59)
After entry in the field rstS two digits (e.g. 59) the cursor jumps
to the next field rstR - this was in the old 1.2 version.

In the new one (8.02) when use Real-time ( F9) or Off-time entry and SSB
mode
rstS and rstR set also to two digit, BUT,
after enter to the field rstS two digits (e.g. 59) the cursor
stays here and I need to use TAB key to get in the next field as well
as to get out of the rstR.
And this is needed to repeat with every logged QSO. It slows down
logging.

This Tab key is not needed when CW, but when SSB.

Is this the way for ever, or some settings can help to solve this ?

Re: [Dx4win] Headings

2009-10-17 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
DX4WIN beam headings are referenced to the geographic North Pole - 90
degrees North Latitude. There is no way for DX4WIN to know the heading
to magnetic north from your particular QTH. I am not aware of ANY
program that can do this.

What DX4WIN should have, and I can't find it at the moment, is a way to
program an offset into the rotator control. Then if your antennas were
aligned to magnetic North, DX4WIN could compensate for this. Maybe Guy
ON4AOI knows if such a feature exists.

Re: [Dx4win] [LOGic] [K3] Configuring Time Keeper

2009-10-17 Thread Mel
You do have to change ports under preferences... I assume you have done
that... the program doesn't ask anything. Older versions ignored port
numbers greater than 8. I can think of no reason why the latest version
would not work unless the com port is above 32.

Thanks for your reply but the computer is recognizing the hardware.
Seems that the program itself doesn't ask for the new port/baud rate
and, therefore, doesn't see the port I'm using. It used to work before
I changed ports but can't get the program to reset the port. I'll keep

[Dx4win] CW Keyboard

2009-10-17 Thread Ron Polityka
Hello,

I have been using the DX4Win program since it first came out on the market.
Great logging program.

One of the earlier updates, Version 6.xxx, I noticed a problem with the new
update on the CW Keyboard. I use to be able to change the CW Speed with the
plus or negative key on the keyboard and it would change while the program
was still sending the CW.

Today while loading my macros into the Version 8.02 I found I had the same
problem. But I found that my problem was not a real problem anyway.

While in the CW Keyboard you can change the speed with the plus or negative
key on the keyboard while the program is not running the CW. . . . But if
you want real-time speed change you can do it with the Alt + F9 or Alt + F10
keys while the program is running.

So my problem was really not a problem except for not exploring the program
to it full capacity.

Keep up the Great Work guys!!!

this, maybe you can make some custom award and mark domestic qso's with
