Re: [Dx4win] Create VUCC Map from DX4WIN Award Listing version 2.0 released
Hi I have downloaded the program, extracted it. Using DX4Win v.8.03 and Windows 7. Cannot get the program to start. Let me be more precise. Looks like the program starts running, but within a half second, the screen disappears... Any hint pse ? I've tested it with DX4WIN 7.07 and 8.04. I haven't finished creating all the background images yet. I intend to cover Japan as well as Australia/New Zealand. If your map is missing some background images, let me know which fields and I will create them. Thanks for all the helpful comments and suggestions. I'll be working on a Windows version of this utility sometime in the future (but not right away). 73 - Jim AD1C __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

You have to run it at the command line, using the command options shown on the web page. Go to Start | All Progams | Accessories | Command Prompt. cd to the directory where vucc.exe and the images directory is, then type the command in on the command line, like it shows on the web page. A windows version is coming, but I don't have time right now. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] system32 error on Windows 7
'Morning Ya'll! I just bought my first complete computer, a laptop (all others were homebrew). This thing has Windows 7, 64 bit home premium for the OS. I installed DX4WIN verson 7 on it and all seems to be fine BUT each time I initiallize the program I get an error dialog box that sezs: Driver: c:\windows\system32\drivers\vichw11sys Not found: trying to install the Driver I click OK in the box and DX4WIN comes up and runs fine. Must be something simple that I don't see to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 73, Mike WA5POK __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Create VUCC Map from DX4WIN Award Listing version 2.1 released
I've released version 2.1 of this utility: Create VUCC Map from DX4WIN Award Listing http://dx4win.ad1c.us/vucc/ As most everyone should know the dot-zero version of something always has bugs, and this was no exception. There was an uninitialized variable which didn't show up in my testing, only when I compiled the release version. Sadly, this one was easy to find, as the program failed with my own log! Thanks to Wayne, WA1PMA for noticing that something wasn't quite right. The title of the web page was incorrect (missing band/freq) when using -f frequency mode, that is also fixed (also WA1PMA). 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] system32 error on Windows 7
Run the DX4WIN program as administrator, one time (right-click on the DX4WIN program icon, Run as Administrator. It should install the driver. Then run the program as the normal user, and that error should not be there. By the way, Version 8 has new drivers that work on the 64-bit version of Windows 7. Plus lots of other good stuff, you can see from the release notes on http://www.dx4win.com 73 - Jim AD1C On Tue, Jun 22, 2010 at 8:50 AM, wa5...@peoplepc.com wrote: 'Morning Ya'll! [Dx4win] Group question
Is there a way for my default group to be automatically opened when I open the log? I would like group 000 to be the default group. Right now, I open the log and the selection is automatically set for all QSOs. I have to go into the Filter tab and select group 000 every time. I am using version 8.02. Re: [Dx4win] Group question
Group 0 *is* the selection for all QSOs. DX4WIN always clears group selections when it starts, so it always starts with Group 0. You should use group numbers starting with 1 for custom groups. 73 - Jim AD1C On 6/22/2010 5:23 PM, Dave Perry N4QS wrote: Is there a way for my default group to be automatically opened when I open the log?
