[Dx4win] ARRL Awards Committee Makes Statement on Dissolution of Netherlands Antilles

2010-09-24 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
I'll be releasing the new country file the first weekend of October
(2/3) with changes. As soon as there is an official announcement from
ARRL, a new country file will be released.

Just work every PJ2, PJ4, PJ5/6 and PJ7 station you hear. Your DXCC
totals will eventually be correct when the country file matches exactly
what ARRL does.

ARRL Awards Committee Makes Statement on Dissolution of Netherlands Antilles

09/23/2010

To clarify the administrative process by which the anticipated changes
to the two existing Netherlands Antilles DXCC entities will be made, the
ARRL Awards Committee has determined that at 0400 UTC (12:00 AM local
time in the islands) on October 10, 2010, the two Netherland Antilles
DXCC entities will be deleted. Commencing at 0400 UTC (12:00 AM local
time) on October 10, 2010, operation from the islands of Curacao,
Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Saba and St Eustatius will count for a
yet-to-be-determined number of new entities under the DXCC List Criteria
and Political Entities, Rule 1 and/or Rule 2 Geographic Separation
Entities. When the Awards Committee determines what Rule 1 or Rule 2
actions apply, it will announce the final disposition of the entities on
the DXCC list. The DXCC desk will not accept confirmations for these new
entities until after January 1, 2011.

[Dx4win] IC-7600 USB CIV communications problem

2010-09-24 Thread george
I've solved the problem with data clashes between DX4WIN and my Icom PW1 amp
and the IC-7600 rig by modifying the 7600 rig file in DX4WIN to stop DX4WIN
from polling the 7600 for frequency but I'm not satisfied.

DX4WIN forces me into CIV data addresses in the preferences radio files
for the 7600. Since my PW1 and DX4WIN are forced to have the same CIV
address that's where the problem lies. Data clashes.

The IC-7600 only has a USB to computer interface and does not have a RS232
like the 7700 or the 7800 which do not utilize CIV addresses.

Since the 7600 menu choices for USB serial function are CI-V or DECODE
would 'decode' help if I could get DX4WIN to answer to decode? What is
decode anyway? The 7600 book says DECODE: outputs decoded contents in
ASCII code format.

Could DX4WIN respond to the ASCII format of the USB output when setting the
menu to DECODE?

Maybe a different rigs rig file would work?

I'm not a computer geek so this is a hunt and peck fixem for me.

Thanks.

[Dx4win] DX4WIN F2 Key Update

2010-09-24 Thread nx0x

Thanks to all of you that replied to my question.

I did not realize that the F2 key function was in the preferences section. Not
even sure it was in version 5.xx, but maybe as it's been so long ago. When I
updated to version 8.03 from 5.xx nothing at all was checked under the F2 key
preferences. Made the correction and working fine again. Also made other
settings changes to speed things along for me so it was a nice refresher to
look at those preferences again :)

The next project I should work on is getting 8.03 updated to the latest 8.04...
Thanks Again

Brian - NX0X

F2 confirms the QSO on 8.04 here. But it should work on 8.03 as well.
Check File/Preferences/F2 Key to see if you are set to what you want.

   Just a quick question

Running version 5.xx for years it sure was nice to hit the F2 key to confirm
contacts. I've been running version 8.03 now for awhile but get frustrated that
the F2 key does not confirm the contact anymore. Is it a bug in this version?

In the latest version out (8.04) I think, Does the F2 key confirm the
 contacts
again or am I missing something fairly easy here? It gets to be a pain to go to
the confirm field and select Y then click on save changes?.

Another quick question Is there a manual out for version 8.xx yet?

 Thanks,

[Dx4win] my IC7600 data clash problem

2010-09-24 Thread george
I loaded Logger32 and watched the frequency indicated on it's QSO window and
did not see the same anomalies that I see with DX4WIN???

What is it that Logger32 is doing right that DX4WIN is not which is handling
communications between it and my 7600 with the data clashes between DX4WIN
and my Icom PW1 amp on the CI-V buss.

Someone have a rig file that I may try that does not require DX4WIN to
specify a CI-V address?

Thanks.

Not true: That is not the cause of of the data clashes.

Not true: The C-IV address is nothing to do with RS232 and the 7600 does
have a CI-V address.

No that won't work. Decode is not used for rig communication.
