[Dx4win] country file
I am planning to up-load my log with the current QSO's which include the new PJ's worked. Did I read here that I should have the latest country file installed in my DX4WIN version 8.04 before I upload? What is the latest version of the country file? Thanks. Re: [Dx4win] country file
The question is what happens if you uploaded before using the new country file dated 15 October.I upload daily when doing a lot of DXing, and I'm sure others do also. I posed that question to Bill Moore NC1L this morning. Do duplicate QSOs uploaded to LoTW replace existing ones, or are the (new) uploaded ones ignored. If the first case then using the new country file works. In the other case, there's a problem. Bill didn't know the answer, and put me through to someone else and I had to leave a message. Re: [Dx4win] country file
Neither do they replace, nor are they ignored... The new uploads come in addition to the previous ones, so it should be no problem, they will match the PJ's if and when both sides will have their correct adif codes. 73 Paul F6EXV Le 19/10/2010 21:04, Mark K3MSB a écrit : The question is what happens if you uploaded before using the new country file dated 15 October.I upload daily when doing a lot of DXing, and I'm sure others do also. The new uploads come in addition to the previous ones, so it should be no problem, they will match the PJ's if and when both sides will have their correct adif codes. First, *where* you're uploading makes a difference. ClubLog, eQSL, LoTW, some other logging program, etc. I'll confine my comments to Logbook of the World. When you upload a QSO to LoTW, the only thing that's uploaded is *your* entity's ADIF code. There isn't anything that tells LoTW what entity you think the station is in. When that station uploads their log, the ADIF entity code that their certificate specifies is applied to a QSO match; the QSL is awarded to you for a QSO with their entity. So, if you've uploaded a PJ QSO, you're done. Once ARRL begins issuing certificates for PJ stations using the new entity codes, they'll be able to upload their logs, you'll get a match and the proper credit. You don't need to have a current DX4WIN country file for this to work, by the way - at least not until you download the confirmations from LoTW. Re-uploading QSOs will cause them to be rejected (ignored) as everything in the QSO will be identical to the QSO you've already uploaded. 73, -Rick -- Rick Murphy, CISSP-ISSAP, K1MU/4, Annandale VA USA __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
