Only that it is manual, and once you have QSYed, it doesn't seem that
there is any value in retaining the call in the log window.

Re: [Dx4win] No luck at all in downloading new countries' file

2011-01-30 Thread J. C. Mc Laughlin
Dear David: Mr. Reiser most kindly provided me with links to the two files in
question. When the files were inserted in the proper places, and after I used
a reading program to verify that the new files actually contained the post
10/10/10 information, DX4WIN still used old information. I hypothecated that
another .exe program was being run. A global search found a second program
probably existing because of a very recent replacement of HD and OS. The
shortcut to DX4WIN was changed so as to point to the intended program and
things now seem to work.

Thank you for your assistance. It is a great program.

JC,

If you look at Jim's main support page (http://dx4win.ad1c.us/) you'll
see a link to all the individual files. If you click on the link to
DX4WIN.CTY, it'll take you to
http://www.country-files.com/dx4win/index.htm where there are (very)
detailed instructions for installation.

2011-01-30 Thread Garry Shapiro
Change the icon on your desktop to one from the 8.05 package. Some of
these are version-specific.

Move your license file from 8.04 to 8.05. The file is (your
callsign)_lic.dx4w8 and is currently in your main DX4WIN directory in
8.04. No tickee, no shirtee.

Please read this note about upgrading:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/upgrade.htm

1. DX4WIN does not install an icon on your desktop, only a program
group in the Start menu. The default name is usually DX4WIN but I
like to rename it (during the install) to DX4WIN #.##

2. It sounds like you didn't copy your license file. All described

My guess is NO. However, try setting the hex address in your -7700 to
match that for the -7800, then tell DX4WIN you're using an IC-7800.
It might just work. Same goes for the -7600. I imagine the new ICOM
(read split) commands in all three radios are the same, but I don't
think Paul had access to either the -7600 or -7700 for testing. If
you can help him, it would help everyone.
