[Dx4win] Sorting out for WPX Award

2012-07-07 Thread Luis Teixeira
Sorry, sure that this subject has been discussed here, but not finding it,
the question is: When sorting out, in beahlf of one friend, his WPX
application for Honor Roll, I've followed the following procedure:
*Reports*
*Award : WPX*
*Report/Action: Submission*
*Modes: Phone*
*Bands: All Bands*
*Award: Mixed (I've tried with only 'Mode' or only 'Bands' and I got same
result)*
*OK*
**
I got one file (.csv file) that shows NOT only unique prefixes (as
requested by WPX) but instead I got one list that repeats the same prefix
several times...not good for WPX application undoubtely!
Does anybody has one solution for this, obtaining one list only with unique
prefixes?

Thanks.

Re: [Dx4win] Sorting out for WPX Award

2012-07-07 Thread Luis Teixeira
Thanks Kjell, I've read about that before, but having DX4Win (8.05) this
WPX feature why is this happening, I mean, when sorting out one list for
application directly from one .DXL log , the 'thing' doesnt list unique
prefixes but several with same prefix. WPX rules are very clear about this:
unique prefixes only.
Thanks anywayfor your suggestion, hoping that someone can help us out.

Change the Report/Action from Submission to Listing. When I do that and

Re: [Dx4win] WPX LOTW versus DX4WIN

2012-07-07 Thread Jim - N4ST
Patience grasshopper.
WPX has just gone live on LoTW and it is crunching through the millions of
records in the background.
You can read that status message when you first log onto LoTW on the home
page.
ARRL will post when the WPX processing is up to date.
I currently have more DXCC credits than WPX credits.

However, I only have 184 mix WPX. For that many QSL records, I would have
expected a ton of unique call signs.

DX4WIN shows 750 WPX confirmed.

Maybe I need to download the WPX file from LOTW and do a cross check?

The Logbook of the World system is busy processing QSLs for WPX. What most
people are seeing is just QSLs received in the last few months.
Here's the message about this on the LoTW home page:

LoTW is now displaying a WPX Award table in each user account under the
tab Awards. Over the next couple of days users will see the numbers in the
tables go up as the system continues to process log data that is already in
the system. Some users already see the fully populated prefix tables.
Watch the news here and we will announce when the data processing is
complete.

So, stand by until they say that log processing is completed. I'm only
showing one WPX QSL at the moment.

It's a pity that DX4Win , aparently, is OFF in what concerns WPX, seeming

My experience is similar. With over 100K QSOs, DX4WIN reports that I
should have over 2000 WPX confirmed on LoTW alone. The LoTW web site
shows 238. This notice was posted on July 2:

Jul 2, 2012: WPX -- LoTW is now displaying a WPX Award table in each

It's been 5 days now, that's more than a couple of days. I suspect
the processing is taking longer than they thought it would.

Re: [Dx4win] Fwd: Sorting out for WPX Award

2012-07-07 Thread Kostas Stamatis
I have done in past a wpx submission with dx4win without problem.
First of all you must go to Fileawardswpx tab to specify which cards
count for wpx. By default dx4win does not count the lotw cards but only
eqsl and paper cards. Have in mind that from eqsl only authenticated
users count.
Second go to QSO windowreportsWPX. Unmark the band and mode and leave
only the mixed award. In report/Action choose Submission and ok
I had not problems in past with this procedure and i can not see a
problem right now.

[Dx4win] Strange Happening

2012-07-07 Thread Carol Richards
I have been using DX4WIN for many. many years without any problems. The other
day, something strange started happening. I keep my logbook up as I am
operating. When I log a new station, it appears at the end of my file...quite
normal. Then for some unknown reason, the cursor moves from the last entry to
somewhere in the middle of my log. The new qso is still at the bottom, but the
logbook screen has to constantly be readjusted to see anything. What happened
and how can I correct it? I haven't done anything new?

Re: [Dx4win] Strange Happening

2012-07-07 Thread Art - W6KY

I was able to duplicate your problem by changing the
date on my computer. Changed to 2/7/2012. Entered
a new QSO with ZD8Z and the logbook jumped to
2/7/2012..

Check your CPU clock..

Subject: [Dx4win] Strange Happening

I have been using DX4WIN for many. many years without any problems. The other
day, something strange started happening. I keep my logbook up as I am
operating. When I log a new station, it appears at the end of my file...quite
normal. Then for some unknown reason, the cursor moves from the last entry to
somewhere in the middle of my log. The new qso is still at the bottom, but the
logbook screen has to constantly be readjusted to see anything. What happened
and how can I correct it? I haven't done anything new?

2012-07-07 Thread John Shaw
Check the top of the logbook window what does it say it is sorted by. I'm
guessing some how it has been changed to something other than date.
