in case you want to find the total counties (including these you have
lotw confirmation even they don't count for the award right now) you can
enable lotw confirmation: file>awards>counties and check lotw under
confirmation

Hola Luc,

Does it have to be an ADIF file? If you go to File | Awards and click
on the County tab. Under "Confirmation", make sure that both QSL Card
and eQSL are checked. Then click OK.

Now under reports, generate a County Listing. This will show just a
list of counties worked and confirmed, but it won't show the actual
QSOs. Now you can look through the report for the letter 'C' which
means the county is confirmed.

I have created a filter with F8 to see the confirmed counties.

In the Label Cnfm QSL field "Y"

Instead of counting the two options cnfm "Y".
Take into account any of the 2 options with "Y" Cnfm Label "Y" or Cnfm LoTW
"Y"

Re: [Dx4win] Filter WPX Report

2021-03-20 Thread Mike Cizek W0VTT
Hello Bud,

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to filter by just WPX
cards. If you have NO other outstanding QSLs, maybe you can set the mailed
cutoff to a low number and clear them all.

Worked Cutoff

QSOs worked longer ago than the number of days specified will be marked as 'not
worked'. Used to ignore QSOs that are not likely to be ever confirmed because
they took place too long ago. The DX Spots Window for example will show the
colors as if this QSO did not exist. A value of zero is used to ignore the
CutOff and view all QSOs as 'worked' regardless how long ago the QSO took place.

Mailed Cutoff

Similar as Worked Cutoff, but the QSL date is used instead of the QSO date.
QSOs for which a card has been sent longer ago than the number of days
specified will be treated as if a card was never sent. This can be used in
reports and summary windows and when marking additional QSOs for QSLing. A
value of zero is used to ignore the CutOff and view all QSLs that were mailed
as 'mailed' regardless how long ago the mailing took place.

Bud, I don't think you can filter by Award. I believe 'M' means that
the QSL Date is not empty, but Cnfm is not 'Y'. You would have to
individually double-click on each 'M' in the listing and clear the QSL
Date for the selected QSOs.

Oh, you mean the import/export filters. I don't know if they are
compatible. But you can try:

* In the DX4WIN 8.05 SAVE directory, find dx4win.iep
* In the DX4WIN 9.0x SAVE directory, the file is called impexpflt.dat

Save your original impexpflt.dat file. They try copying dx4win.iep
from 8.05 over top of the existing impexpflt.dat file. See if that
works. If it messes everything up, then restore the original
impexpflt.dat file that you copied.

The files are not ASCII text so they are a little hard to read. It
appears that the ADIF import/export filter is different between the
two versions.

If you go to File | Import/Export and click on a particular filter,
you can edit and/or print it. But I do not see a way to export a
filter. You may want to see if Paul can help here.

Filter settings should be stored in your logbook (.DXL file). So if
you copied your logbook file from the V8 to the V9 "SAVE" directory,
you should have them.

Re: [Dx4win] Filter by date in V. 9.04

2018-03-26 Thread Mike Cizek W0VTT
Hello Steve,

You can do this with the F8 search function. Start by selecting "File" at
the very top:

File > Preferences > QSO > QSO Date > Range > Save changes and exit.

When you do a search (F8), enter the beginning date, hit return, and the
program will ask for the end date. When you do your export (File >
Import/Export) select YES for using the filter.

[Dx4win] Filter Selections Gone

2013-06-15 Thread Jim Bowman
I was going to create a new filter and inadvertently selected a blank
selection from the Import/Export Window.

I exited DX4WIN and reopened it. When I now select File - Import/Export
Filter, I receive a message saying an Exception has occured and Grid is out
of range . Hitting the OK button reveals the Import/Export filter window
but there are NO filter selections at all.

Now if I select LotW - Export to LOTW, another message is raised: Could not
find ADIF filter

How do I restore the standard set of Import/Export filters? ( I have current

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN filter question

2013-01-30 Thread Mike Cizek
Hello George -

Try this -

FILTER - type in 2013-01-01 - ENTER. This should give you all QSOs from 1
Jan. Then EXPORT this to another log file, say YES when it asks you if you
want to use the filter for the export. Do your DXCC report on this exported
log file.
There may be an easier way, in which case AD1C will probably anwer.

2009-11-20 Thread Dave Perry N4QS
Jim,

Yes, I got it fixed thanks to Tom, W4KX. Here is what he sent me:

The problem is with the rig file (X4), which includes an errant command to
NORM the vfo whenever VFO B is selected (you can see this yourself when
you double click on a spot and the display will briefly show NORM).

The current commands sent to the rig under a Select VFO B is invoked are
K31;SWH58;SWT13;SWT13;K30;

It's the SWH58 command that norms the radio. So, just change the rig file
for Select VFO B to:

K31;SWT13;SWT13;K30;

and you will be all set!

All I did modify the X4 righ file by deleting the one command SWH58 as he
suggested. Works fine now. Some people may want to norm their filters when
they go into split. Not me. I like keeping my filter settings for both RXs
the same.

bandwidths between VFO A and VFO B. Normally I keep VFO A at 250 Hz and B
at 400 Hz. So when I click on a spot, I want to keep the filter bandwidths

the same. The RX and TX frequencies are being set properly by DX4WIN -- it

is just that the filter bandwidths are being reversed. I am using the
 Elecraft K3 X4 radio file.

Dave, did you ever resolve this? Does ANYONE else with a K3 have this
same problem?

[Dx4win] Filter Selection

2009-11-09 Thread Ralph Fedor
I'm sure this is operator error, but I can't work my way through this.

This is what I want to do:

Select QSO's from my log (ALL QSO's - Group 0) based on a range of dates
(17 Jan 07 to the current date). I want to change the LoTW and eQSL flags
to Y for all these QSO's.

When I go to FILTER | SELECTION, I can't do anything with the window that
appears. The only active thing I can do is get a drop down under the ALL
QSO's line at the top allowing me to Replace this name. What I want to do
is enable the date filter by typing in the First Date and Last Date.
However, this and everything else in the window (except the very top line)
seems inactive and I can't change or enter anything.

Maybe I'm going about this wrong. How do I set the above flags?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Ralph,

If it's a simple date range, change your QSO preferences tab to use
Range for date. Then use the F8 key and set the starting date. Hit
ENTER and it will prompt you for the ending date. Now perform the
flag operations, and DX4WIN will ask if you want to use the filter.
Answer YES of course.

[Dx4win] Filter (F8) problem...

2009-08-19 Thread Stefano Cipriani
Hi Paul and Jim,
Today I discovered an other strange bahaviour:
1 - Added qso made with OH9AA/P - 14mhz - ssb - IOTA EU126.
2 - Exit by the program.
3 - In the afternoon I made a filter (F8) searching all EU126 qsos.
4 - DX4W shows only two other old qsos with EU126.
 Nothing about the qso with OH9AA/P ( ??? )
5 - Then I have deleted the qso and I added it a second time.
6 - F8 with same result (nothing about the last qso)
Very Strange.
Ciao
Stefano, I0MWI

[Dx4win] Filter Question

Hello --

I'm running DX4WIN 7.04.04.

When filtering, say you have a station that you've worked on 40M several

when filtering using the station's call and a single date, ALL of the QSO's
show up, not just the one I wanted.

How to I filter on just a single date?

Hi Mark,

In your QSO Preferences, under Searching, set QSO Date to Range. Then
in the F8 search, you can set start and end dates for the QSOs. Search
for the Start date, then after hitting ENTER, DX4WIN will prompt you for
the End date.

Re: [Dx4win] Filter Question

2009-05-25 Thread Mel
In preferences, on the QSO tab, you have 3 choices for date matching.

Greater or Equal... handy for QSL operations.
Exact... which is what you actually need.
Date Range... this is what is causing you a little confusion.
If you specify Date-Range... you just specify a start date in the log
form and a pop-up window will ask for the range when you start the filter.
The reason the guys are suggesting to set preference to Date-Range is
that you can use this for all 3 types of queries... so you never have to
mess with preferences. For example... for an exact match, begin - end
dates are the same. For = specify a future second date... for =
specify a past first date...

Hope this clears it up for you Mark.

suggestions only works for a QSO search.

[Dx4win] Filter Selection LOTW

2006-02-11 Thread Jim Reisert AD1C
John, any F8 filter will apply for LoTW export.

Just select the prefix !W (exclamation point before the W) in your log (i.e.
*not* W [USA]). This will give you DX QSOs only. Then do the upload flag
thingie and you should be all set.

Interesting reply.

Does this special date work for all date fields - ie QSL date ??

To turn the problem on it's head - can you search for QSl entries with a
date (with a view to clearing them); where no QSL has been received? I seem
to have a lot of records with a date, as if I have sent QSL's, but not
received one back. I would like to clear these fields

[Dx4win] Filter selection in DX4Win

2004-07-29 Thread Ron Tivey
Hello All,

Several months ago I ask a question about the filters for the IC-756Pro
radios and DX4Win.

Thanks to the help of a friend the question of filter selection
through DX4Win to the IC-756ProII has been answered.

In the DX4Win/radio/IC-756ProII file find the following:

[RC-Set Mode]
CSTR=060002FD
LEN=0
LOC=Other

The (2) is the filter selection. Change the number as follows: Wide =1
Middle =2 and Narrow = 3. Unfortunately this changes the filter setting
for all modes. Maybe in the next release Paul can figure a way to set
the filters for each mode separately or maybe a way to change the filter
from the program.

[Dx4win] Filter spots per origin

2003-11-01 Thread Radivoj KAR
Hi Paul,

I've got retired and have more time for QSO's. I found out that many local
clusters announce spots received from anywhere. US hams are surely not
interested seeing their spot window filed-up with 160-meter and 80-meter
spots announced by European stations. And I can't make any use of the VK9
spot announced by a JA station...
So, if you're still motivated to keep DX4WIN the Number One ( and I am sure
you are! ), it would be fine to add a possibility to Preferences to
filter-out the spots announced from some major high-activity countries. I
know that sometimes I could hear a rare DX announced by a W-Ham, but then
other EU ops could hear it too and some of them would also announce it...
What do you think about my proposal?

[Dx4win] filter problem V 5.03

2003-09-04 Thread Paul van der Eijk
Tom,

After you see the message that 'The QSO does not match the
current filter' , click the OK button followed by an Escape. This
cancels the current filter and lets you select any QSO shown.

If a 'Selection' is active, this does not work, because only QSOs
that are in the current selection will be shown. When DX4WIN starts,
the selection is 'ALL QSOs', so I don't think that is the problem.

[Dx4win] Strange flaw in Importing with DX4WIN Filter

2003-03-26 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Tonno Vahk)
Another most strange thing I discovered occurs when Importing a DXQ File
with DX4WIN3, DX4WIN4 or DX4WIN5 filters.

If the QSO time has 59 seconds in it the number or seconds is changed to 58
during importing!!! Can you believe it?

I spent quite a few hours trying to figure out why I get duplicate QSOs in
my log when I export some QSOs and then Import the same QSOs back selecting:
IMPORTED QSO REPLACES EXISTING QSO.

I did this operation because I wanted to set the CONFIRMED label to N for a
group of QSOs and this is not included into Multiple QSOs Operations. So I
had to EXPORT-IMPORT them. So for every 100 QSOs or so I got one identical
duplicate and I did not have the Show Seconds in Time marked in Preferences.
So it was quite a puzzle till I finally got to it.

I checked with other second figures and no problem but 59 is always changed
to 58:))) Can you confirm?

[Dx4win] Filter Selection

2002-03-08 Thread Carlos Ferreira
Amazing that this mail came just few days after I decided to combine all my
logs into one, wich I call it by Master Log.
I have been now very busy the past four days with this, and my wife is not
so happy about it, hi...hi...

I also noticed that besides the problems you wrote here, that also when
logging a new QSO, it will be on Alllogs, not in
the log using filter selection , It would be nice that when we are on the
filter selection that the QSO entered would be on this same log and not to
the Alllogs in my case Master log

I also agree with Bob and Alan, this is really neat solution but still
missing some small things.

The solution in my case is not to have another log from a diferent DXCC into
my Master, but then is also the most of the point with the sytem gone. If
one wants to be able to tell the operator that we have had QSO on this and
that time with different calls, so will the price be paid for uncertain
spots comming in and don't really know if we have worked with our call or
another, like said before by Bob and Alan.

I hope this will be added in the next update, I still using the V5.01 and
have the V5.03 on disk waiting yet, I just don't think it is worth to try
update just now when I'm having my DX4WIM working very fine now, it takes
really a lot of time to make the updates work propely and neat, hi...hi

So if someone have any comments to my mail please be kind to send us an
e-mail clearing my mind for what should I do with
this situation. I think this Log program is great, I have been using a lot
of others before, and still using one major one for contest, but whn it
comes to log it DX4WIN and no other one.

Thanks for all.

logging a new country and it tells me confirmed or needed I don't know if
it is confirmed or needed for USA DXCC or DU DXCC.
