Hi Wayne

Did you install the LPTdriver ?
Can be found under c:\dx4win\drivers
If not do it and normally your problem will be solved

 Hi,
I recently downloaded a copy of DX4WIN, ver 8.04, and installed the
 license.
This effectively upgraded me from an earlier version that I owned.

I am seeking help because I have a problem with the radio interface
 software
not working for my TS-2000. After starting the radio, the DX4WIN
 banner
will show (not responding) and an error message appears shortly after
 that
 - that message is Radio timed out. Radio interface has been
 disabled

 Radio Setup Parameters are:
 . Type=Kenwood 2000
 . Address=00
 . Baud Rate = 9600
 . COM Port = COM2
. Poll rate = 5000; but have tried other settings
 . Max tries = 6
 . Transverter=0
 . Band= None
Menu 56 on the TS-2000 is set to 9600 baud. Windows device manager
 reports
 9600, 8, n , 1 for COM2 settings.

I am running the software on Windows-7 Professional and I have verified
 the
 I/O address is 02F8 for COM2.
I have tried Windows-7 native as well as the XP (SP3) compatibility
 mode on
 dx4win.exe.
I have tried DTR/RTS high and low.
I have tried other baud rates settings but no change DX4WIN seems to
 work
fine for logging, etc. Just the radio interface is the problem.

HERE'S THE CATCH: The radio DOES respond to Kenwood's ARCP software
 without
any changes in cables, COM settings or other adjustments. I can
 shutdown
DX4WIN and can immediately start ARCP--- ARCP works fine and I have
 complete
software control over the radio. This leads me to believe there is
something in DX4WIN that I'm not setting correctly.

 Can you offer any suggestions?

 Tnx 73

[Dx4win] TS-2000

Using V8.04

I am trying to set up a TS-2000 as 2nd radio.  I can not get a TS-2000 to
communicate BAND/MODE/FREQ to the program.   I do not want to control the
TS-2000 from the computer.   Setting up the program for my K3 was easy.  Would
like to hear from someone who has set up the TS-2000 and program.

Hi Arne,
Should be no problem if you use the correct straight cable
Pse check also menu settings for the correct baudrate etc

Did you resolve this problem? I just got a TS-2000 and have exactly
this issue.
TS-850 worked fine. No go with TS2K!

Subject: [Dx4win] RE: Spot priorities - my confusion

I have been continually confused as to how to set the spotting to do
what I need. I am working toward 5 band DXCC, independent of mode.
Therefore, I have alert unfirmed country' checked in the packet1
preferences screen. Now the confusion, a country which I had confirmed
on 20 meters showed up in the spots on 15 meters, where I had worked
that country, but have no confirmation was shown as priority 5. I have
seen this many times in priority 4. This simply tells me that I do not
understand the logic on how spot priorities are assigned and that I do
not know how to interact with DX4WIN on this to get it to do what I
want. Reading the help file simply didn't help.

and later followed up with:

Got no answers so let me pose a question. Today I see a CN on 20 meters
as priority 4 yet that country is confirmed on 20. I see others listed
as priority 4 for which I have no confirmation on the band shown in the
spot. How do I get DX4WIN to distinguish between these?

There are 9 spot priorities, from highest to lowest:

1. Entity never worked on any band or mode
2. Entity never worked on this mode
3. Entity never worked on this band
4. Entity worked but not confirmed on this mode
5. Entity worked but not confirmed on this band
6. Entity never worked on this band AND mode (ie. 40-CW or 20-SSB)
7. Entity worked but not confirmed on this band AND mode
8. Entity confirmed (but this call not worked) on this band AND mode
9. This call already worked on this band AND mode

When a spot comes in, DX4WIN goes down the list from 1 through 9 to see which
is the first true statement, then assigns that priority.

Today I see a CN on 20 meters as priority 4
yet that country is confirmed on

[Dx4win] TS -2000 and Rigblaster

2002-06-01 Thread Gary Simmons
Hi

Although I will get my Extra Class Ticket this month I am still new to a lot
of ham activities.

I will receive next week a Kenwood TS-2000 and a Rigblaster Plus. The
Rigblaster will be connected to my P4 computer in my shack and I can connect
it to the internet if necessary. I plan to use DX4WIN to log my voice and
CW contacts but I also want to use my new equipment for PSK31 and RTTY (I
may also want to send and receive CW with my computer).

I would like to end up with the best setup to operate this TS-2000,
RigBlaster, computer, internet system with the best software without using a
bunch of different programs. From what I have read I need at least one
program for the digital communications and MixW seems to be the most
versatile software for this purpose. From what I understand, MixW has its
own logging program but I don't want to use one log for voice, another for
digital and maybe another for contests.

If anyone has any tips or specific suggestions for configuring my setup I
would certainly appreciate the input and discussion.

[Dx4win] TS-2000

2002-03-10 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thank you very much for the quick response regarding the computer =
control of my TS2000.

The problems were cured mainly based on two different advices:

a) An updated .rig file that was mailed to me.
b) The RST box must be checked in the radio setup window.

Now everything is working OK.=20
Thanks everybody for the help.

Now I have the next question:

I am used to working DX4WIN connected to a cluster on the 2m band and is =
very fond of the possibility to set the radio to the cluster frequensy =
with a mouse click on the cluster station. I will now try to setup the =
TS2000 in this way.

I intend to use the TS2000 sub band for packet connection to the 2m band =
cluster via DX4WIN and also use the computer to control the main band =
via DX4WIN.

As I understand the computer can only control the radio via the radio =
COM port and not the built in TNC simultaneusly.
My solution will be to use an external TNC (KAM) connected to the ACC2 =
connector. Audio output from sub-receiver to TNC on pin-1 (SANO), PTT =
connected to pin-9 (PKS) and audio input from TNC to sub-transmitter on =
pin-11 (PKD), ground to pin-4/pin-8.

I will then work the cluster station on the main band via SSB,CW, RTTYor =
PSK31 without the need to shut of the sub-band.

Basically I will use the TS2000 as a twin radio setup. I hope this is =
possible, but before using a lot of work to make a trial and error test, =
please help me with information of your setup.

Erik,

I believe that the default baudrate for the TS-2000 is incorrect. (should be=
9600) You can either overwrite the bad default in the radio selection=
screen, or modify the rig file with NotePad.exe
