Re: [Dx4win] How to change QSL Date field

2008-11-06 Thread Isidro Acosta Hernández

Hello all...

It seems to me that the F8 with the QSL date filters the QSOs with QSL
dates equal or later the filter specification. Have you tested it?

RE: [Dx4win] How to change QSL Date field

2008-11-05 Thread John Shaw
Alain, can't comment on the phantom print date. But I have had phantom
names populate the Notes for this call box. To explain, over the years of
using DX4WIN here I did bring another log into mine as a group. I decided
that I no longer wanted that group in my log so I removed the QSO's, several
years ago now. But every so often when I work a station that is not in my
current log DX4WIN will come up with the correct name for the operator. My
only explanation is that it is picking up the information from a deleted
QSO. Not a bug or problem just a curious observation.

Subject: [Dx4win] How to change QSL Date field

Hi everybody,

Many thanks to John, ZL1ALZ, who help me on this topic.
I filter (F8) QSO with QSL Date field = 01/10/2008, I set print flags to Y
and I print the labels. The QSL Date field become 05/11/2008. It's OK.
When I use a filter (F8) with QSL Date field = 05/11/2008 I can find these
QSO. It's OK.
But, very strange, when I filter (F8) with QSL Date field = 01/10/2008 I
find these QSO too.
It's like if Dx4Win save all the dates when labels was printed even if only
one date (of course) is in the QSL Date field (I test it with three
differents dates).
Anybody can reproduce that or it's only in my log ?

John,

Notes for the calls do not go away as you observed..
When you export the log using the dx4win filter, two files are generated.
One with the QSOs and the second one with the notes for the calls.
You can edit the second file and import the files into a new log.
(Actually it is better to copy the log and delete the QSOs and import
into that log;
doing this will preserve the groups of your log)

RE: [Dx4win] How to change QSL Date field

2008-11-05 Thread John Balsillie
Hi again Alain. When I did my initial test I didn't use the F8 and the QSL date
field, I set up a filter with the Selection Editor with a date range.
I have since tried doing a F8 search using a QSL date without success. Talking
with John ZL1BYZ we think the count/matches resulting from the search are all
the QSLs in the log from the search date. If I search using the latest
QSL/print date its correct but not using an older QSL date.
Do a test F8 search of a previous QSL date, maybe a single QSL from years ago
and see what your count is?
Something funny is going on when we search using the QSL date, but what?

This subject may have been discussed before but I cant find it.

Cheers
