Good Evening, Conditions were much better than I had expected. The sun really charged up the ionosphere, lots of contest activity on twenty meters. On forty meters there was a little more QSB and the band changed during the net. At the end I was hearing something that reminded me of singing. I thought Radio China was about to come on the air :) But Brian told me it was FT4 which I confirmed a little later. I think the lead in to Radio China was the best fit my mind could achieve. I spent way too much time listening to shortwave radio when I was young. [Elecraft] Elecraft 80M SSB Net Announcement
Please join us on 3784 kHz (NOTE THE NEW FREQUENCY), 9PM ET Sunday (0200Z Monday). 80M has been good at that time of the evening, with strong signals and little QRN from thunderstorms these days. Your net control this week will be Dave, N8SBE, although I've had intermittent antenna issues at high power the last couple of weeks. This seems to be an 80M only issue, for some reason. If I continue to have issues this evening, please listen for Eric, WB9JNZ, who did a stellar job a couple of weeks ago of taking over as NCS after my hi-power station went down. It's over 50F today, with scattered clouds. Makes one think of spring. I have seen this on mine. Usually that means that the Morse code key in (either paddle or manual) is shorted to gnd. [Elecraft] K3 ERR DSE / E 000202
Dear All, My K3 is prompting now with ERR DSE, during CQ WPX RTTY it was ok, next switch on this week end it prompts this error. Reloading DSP-firmware wasn't successful. Would be open for further suggestions, my time is limited to some hours on week end, so if you send me suggestion, please understand that I can react only with delay. The sample output on the amp is already enabled. You just need a radio that supports adaptive predistortion.
