Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft compatible WX station
As the original author of the query about WX stations, I would like to thank everyone who responded. I have decided on the Davis Vantage Pro wireless weather station. I have had experience with these units before in my work environment and they performed very well. It's comforting to know many amateurs have had good experience with them in a RF environment. Thanks again for everyone's advice. This thread can be closed now from my perspective. I had an account on DynDNS some time ago so I didnt have to worry about my dynamic IP address, but that service which was free has now stopped. Not all images in the P3 manual display on the iPad, and saving a new version of the pdf from Preview makes everything show up, though the difference is invisible on a Mac. It's not every image that causes problems, though, as if they were created in more than one program and assembled from several sources. Which makes sense. So, many of the manuals are probably completely ok, and you will find problems only when your iPad version has a blank area that should have an image or figure in it. Re: [Elecraft] [K3] Need for advice
Thanks Wayne. When it is ready I will incorporate it into my K3 Micro Manual. Should make a very valuable supplement. Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft Digest, Vol 79, Issue 16
Ed, Look in the Firmware Release Notes on the Elecraft web site. CW QRQ was added after the current Owner's Manual was printed. TX DVR was also added post manual printing. Re: [Elecraft] (Fwd) Re: Droid
Hi Brett, It will require a server program to be developed for the PC, Mac or Linux computer that is connected to the K3. So, to provide access for Windows, Mac and Linux users there will need to be three different server versions developed. Then a client side application needs to be written to operate on the Android phone (and another for the iPhone for Wayne ;-) ). That client should be able to work through any of the server programs whether they are Windows, Mac or Linux based. The biggest challenge in my mind is how to put a user friendly interface on the small screen of a Droid or iPhone. It is much easier to design a client side interface for a laptop or desktop PC because there is so much more screen 'real estate' available. I can only hope that we get to maintain cross platform compatibility so that Linux and Mac users can use the Android client... I've been quite happy with the Linux K3 utility and only have to run the windows one in a VM for short bits while waiting for the Linux one to catch up... Any chance of the utilities being open sourced? __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
