I am putting both of my Elecraft complete K3 line stations up for sale.Each 
station includes the following: K3 transceiver, KPA500 Amplifier, KAT500 
Antenna Tuner, P3 Panadapter with monitor and Navigator interface.All as 
current photograph on my QRZ.com page. Details of both stations as below. They 
are in a non-smoking environment.
Station 1.
K3 Transceiver, serial # 00684, firmware version 5.67.100 Watt amp installed. 
Full 100 watts out on all bands.
Sub receiver installed.100 Watt tuner installed.K312 MDKT upgrade to provide 
1.0 amp 12V power output. (Required if P3 SVGA graphics option is to be 
used).No microphone, I always used headset mic.KUSB PCX 0250 firmware cable 
included.Fred Cady K3 second edition manual, included.Filters installed;

When I first obtained this radio in 2014 I sent it to Elecraft to check it 
over. They did some upgrades to it but I can't find the record of what they 
did.Have never had any reason to open it up and look. Cost then about $800. Has 
no known problems, is still in regular use.

I have had this problem for some time but as I almost never use 6 meters it has 
not really concerned me.
I have two identical K Line stations, K3's, KAT 500's, KPA 500's and P3's.
On station #1 everything works as it should and if I put 25 watts into the KPA 
500 I get 500+ watts out. On station #2 if I put 30 watts into the KPA 500 I 
get 350 out and if I increase the input to 32 watts the KPA 500 momentarily 
shows 400 watts out and immediately trips the amp and shows the PA DISS fault. 
It works fine on all other bands putting out 500 watts with nominal drive power.
If I then swop the KPA 500's over without changing any antennas or radio 
settings (so nothing except the amps has changed), the fault moves with the amp 
and the good amp continues to be good on the other station.
My questions: What is wrong with the faulty amp and what do I need to do to fix 
it?

[Elecraft] Headphones.

I bought the Yamaha phones a couple of years ago. They were fine for a while 
but the microphone was very loose and kept getting in the way and then the foam 
earpiece covering all fell apart. So, when I thought about it, it occurred to 
me that the younger generation that does a lot of gaming for hours on end must 
need something that worked well and are comfortable for long periods. I did a 
little research and then bought a "Pro Gamer" headset HyperX Cloud. Not as 
cheap as the Yamaha but not as pricey as Heil. (I've had Heil headsets over the 
years and never been really happy with them).
The real clincher was that the HyperX has a detachable microphone so now I have 
something to stir my tea with. (The only use I have for it).
I am very pleased, they seem to perform well with the K3 and I find them 
durable and comfortable. But, as someone else said, every person is different.

 My KPA 500 has been running ok for several years on 120 Volts. Today I turned 
it off on the back , unplugged it and opened the top because I thought I might 
need to change the voltage tap. I did not need to change it. I replaced the top 
cover, plugged it in and turned it on at the back. All ok, but when I turned it 
on with the front panel button the HV reads .1 in standby. If I tap OPER it 
shows a hard fault and "270V error" .The Manual says this is a 270V supply 
failure and to recycle the mains power KPA 500 after it is corrected. I tried 
recycling the power but still faults. I don't have any 270V power from the 
mains, if I did it would be 240ish, not 270. The fuse block on the back is set 
to 115V.Any advice would be welcome.Mike, WM5DX.

 I am driving my KPA500 with my K3 to a Mosley PRO 67. On every band except 20 
meters 25 watts out from the K3 will give me at least 500 watts out of the 
amplifier. On 20 meters I get 450 watts out with 25 watts drive but no increase 
even if I go to 40 watts out from the  K3. I have put a dummy load on the K3 
using the usual RG 213 and the SWR is 1:1, and I have checked the antenna with 
an MFJ 259, using the usual RG 213 cable and it is 1:1 at 14.000 up to 1.4:1 at 
14.350.I have loaded the latest firmware to both the K3 and the KPA. I realize 
that the difference between 450 and 500 watts is negligible but it bugs me that 
it is not giving me full power out on 20.Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix
