[Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ?
I pulled up Wayne's note from March 7 about the new K3 Firmware (MCU 1.75 / DSP 1.57), and went to the K3 Software Page to download the latest update utility (1.1.3.6) that was mentioned. It's not there. Can I use the existing utility (1.1.2.28) to download the new firmware and expect no problems? Or, should I wait until the new utility is available? 73, Henry - K4TMC K3/100 #98 ** It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms, and advice on AOL Money Finance. RE: [Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ?
You can use any K3 Utility version from 1.0.12.7 forward to load the most recent firmware. There are reliability improvements for some USB to Serial Adapter issues and a bug fix to save/restore config in the newer K3 Utility version, so we are encouraging people to move forward there as well. 1.1.3.6 was announced a bit too soon. The most recent public version of the K3 Utility is 1.1.2.28, the one you have. 1.1.3.6 is still in field test. The new feature in 1.1.3.6 is a terminal tab for CW and RTTY, and it hasn't received enough testing yet. 73 de Dick, K6KR -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2008 8:22 AM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ? Re: [Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ?
Interestingly, while I'm running 1.1.1.28, that program and, apparently therefore the display on the K3, thinks a newer K3 Utility Program is available. A minor glitch, probably brought about by the premature availability of 1.1.3.6. 73, doug From: Dick Dievendorff [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sun, 9 Mar 2008 09:00:46 -0700 Content-Language: en-us You can use any K3 Utility version from 1.0.12.7 forward to load the most recent firmware. RE: [Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ?
The K3UtilityVersionInfo.txt file was prematurely updated. If you go to the Firmware page, check Copy new files from Elecraft server into local folder and click Check Versions now, the K3 Utility should copy the k3UtilityVersionInfo.txt file with the proper current version, 1.1.2.28, into your local folder, and that message should go away. The current version should be 1.1.2.28. 73 de Dick, K6KR -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Doug Faunt N6TQS +1-510-655-8604 Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2008 9:27 AM To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 Utility revision 1.1.3.6 ?
