Re: [Elecraft] KX1, Removing Underside of Board
As Don said, you just need to bend the case out a little to clear the keyer connector. You didn't mention it, but I assume you removed the tuning knob. I had a similar failure to turn on a while ago and found that the switch wasn't working. I just sprayed it with contact cleaner and worked it a few times and it has been ok since. Re: [Elecraft] KX1, Removing Underside of Board
Cliff, The KX1 has no fuses inside, one should always fuse the power cord. The board removes quite easily, but yes, the paddle jack does catch a bit on one side of the enclosure top. Just grasp the paddle jack and pull that side of the board out of the enclosure first, the rest will follow. You can exert a bit of pressure on the enclosure sides to spread it apart a bit, it will spring right back after the pressure is released. No need to remove the standoffs as another poster suggested. 73, Don W3FPR MASH wrote: New Year Greeting Everyone: It has been a longtime since I buit the KX1. I removed the 3 screws from the front panel. This still does not remove the board. The keyer connector seems to be sticking. Any advise is welcome on this problem. Re: [Elecraft] KX1, Removing Underside of Board
Cliff You may have discovered this by now, but in my experience you need to remove the spacers too, not just unscrew them from the front panel. A Happy New Year to you too! 73 Stephen G4SJP On 01/01/2009 04:09, "MASH" wrote: >New Year Greeting Everyone: > > It has been a longtime since I buit the KX1. [Elecraft] KX1, Removing Underside of Board
New Year Greeting Everyone: It has been a longtime since I buit the KX1. I turned on the radio to find it would not turn on. The lamp goes on. I am trying to find the fuses. They must be on the underside of the board. I am having trouble removing the board. I removed the 3 screws from the front panel. This still does not remove the board. The keyer connector seems to be sticking. Any advise is welcome on this problem.
