[Elecraft] TX audio via N1MM+

2016-11-12 Thread Tad Danley
Is there a template for configuring N1MM+ to use with a K3s so that I
can record TX audio on the fly using the Function keys?

Asking for a friend as I don't (yet) own a K3s, but I know his has
direct USB connection to the PC so I'm not sure where to start in
configuring N1MM+ and the K3s.

Thanks and 73,

Re: [Elecraft] TX Audio

2015-08-06 Thread Marco HB9CAT
Keith,

May be obvious, but make sure MENU::MIC SEL is set To Line In, and as Lyle is
saying nothing shall be plugged into the rear Line In port.
On the PC, select Speakers (USB Audio Codec)

Subject: [Elecraft] TX Audio

To all the new K3S owners,
I need a little help with an issue I am having with my K3S so I thought I would
ask for some input.
The issue is with audio being sent from the PC to radio thru the USB cable.
Simply put, I have non. Receive audio going back to the PC from the radio is
fine. The S meter on HRD sees signals just fine. I can decode CW , PSK , and
RTTY fine also.
I just can’t transmit any audio. By the way CW sends great, no problem with
that.
Doesn’t matter what the source is. Could be a digital program or a logging
program or a contesting program.
I tried DVK files (wav.files) even recorded music but nothing.

It appears that Windows is doing it’s job here. You can see the audio being
played on the little meters in the playback devices window.
But nothing at the radio.
I have tried this on 3 different computers with the same results. With
different OS. Win.7, Win.8.1.
USB drivers seem to load fine when I connect the radio.
I checked all the menu settings.

Just don’t know where to go from here.
Am I missing something?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: [Elecraft] TX Audio

2015-08-05 Thread Lyle Johnson
Be sure the 3.5mm LINE IN jack has nothing plugged in. if a cable is
plugged into this jack, the KIO3B will only accept LINE audio from the
jack, not from the USB.

LINE OUT will always be active on both the analog 3.5mm jack as well as USB.

[Elecraft] tx audio

2010-12-02 Thread shwhafen
Sri, I accidently sent the last unfinished letter.

I presume the third -order intermodulation {IMD} should suggest the answer.
Here i see that the Ft5000 is better than the K3, but only when the FT5000
is using class A modulation. One should expect lower IMD running Class A ,
right? Thank you, 73 Steve W6HPK

[Elecraft] Elecraft TX audio adjustment

2009-11-07 Thread Ken Kopp
Larry,

IMO, it's difficult to properly set up the TX audio ... especially
the equalizer ... by listening to yourself. I have a long-time friend
who has a Flex that's helped me set up the TX's audio by guiding
me while watching my signal's audio on the Flex display.

Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft TX audio adjustment

2009-11-07 Thread Dave G4AON
I use my Perseus SDR to record the whole band while transmitting with my
K3 into a 50 Ohm load. For those not familiar with the Perseus, it can
record up to 1600 KHz of frequency to hard disk for later playback as if
you were listening to a live transmission.

I save the file with an appropriate file name and then play it back in
comparison with other recordings using different settings and/or
microphones. The Perseus is of course not limited by a crystal filter,
so the recording can be any bandwidth and I can also listen on the other
sideband.

[Elecraft] TX audio settings

2009-11-07 Thread Hector Padron
For the ones who might be interested,I have created 6 MP3 audio files testing
in my K3 the following mics:
Kenwood MC-43S
Elecraft MH-2
Audio Tecnica ATR-30
On these clips you will be able to hear the difference between them with
ragchewing or dx/contesing audio, also I included a word document with all my
settings to create those audio clips.
With pleasure I am willing to share with you, just send me a direct email off
the group and I will reply with a zip.73

Thanks to those that replied to my question.

One more question:
Does the Mic sound like a Heil HC4 or HC5?
I'll be using it for Dxing and contesting.
Not rag chewing.

Thanks again.

[Elecraft] TX audio passband and ESSB

2008-01-30 Thread Jay Schwisow
I saw a note from Lyle that indicated that the TX audio passband was
250hz to 3150hz. Would this be any different with the 6khz roofing
filter( ESSB enabled) or is it a firmware issue at this time?
