Re: [Elecraft] K2 - Extra capacitor 2.7C

2007-09-01 Thread Roelof Bakker

Hello David,

In professional Morse I have often heard R used as a . (dot) in number
notation.

Hence 2R7 on a capacitor is most likely 2.7 pF.

Actually, I am pretty sure that it means 2.7 ohms, resistive, i.e., this
notation is only meaningful for resistors. The R is a place holder for
the units boundary when there is no k or M to define the scale factor.

This is always the first thing I do. However, I think there is a
serious typo in my manual along with the current PDF manual on
Elecraft's site.

My parts list, along with the PDF version, says the value of C22 is
pF). Something has obviously been cutoff. However, the
Description for C22 reads NPO, 2R7, 3, 3.3, or 3R3. No
reference to 2.7 at all.

Ok, this has been resolved. Thanks for all replies. It has been
pointed out to me that 2R7 is 2.7. I still need to let Elecraft
know about the typo in the Rev. G manual.
