[PSES] 答复: Low voltage DC electrical wire and cables require CCC approval?

2012-04-23 Thread Paul Wang
Chuck,

According to the voltage, it should be outside of CCC category.

But if you want to be 100% sure, you still need to check the standard.

The corresponding IEC standards are IEC60227-3/-4/-5/-6/-7 and IEC
60245-3/-4/-5/-6/-7.

Some of the GB standards have no corresponding IEC standard so it’s
difficult to check.

Subject: Low voltage DC electrical wire and cables require CCC approval?

I am writing to ask for help in identifying if a cable carrying 48VDC at 2A
maximum current will require a CCC certified cable.

The cable is used to interconnect a AC line to DC power supply to a 48VDC
speaker.

The cable does not run inside a wall or other building construction.

The cable similar to a AC wall wart output supplying 48 VDC.

I understand CCC controls these 5 categories of Electrical wires and cables.

0101: Cord sets

0102: Flexible rubber-sheathed cables for mining purposes

0103: Insulated cables (wires) for railway vehicles of rated voltage up to
and including 3kV

0104: Rubber insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including 450/750V

0105: Polyvinyl chloride insulated cables of rated voltages up to and
including 450/750V

I am failing to understand where the lower limit is for these types.

Do all current carrying conductors with a insulation surrounding in China
require CCC approval?

Can you direct me to the document , GB standard or law that specifies the
lower limits of the above electrical wires and cables or is this found in a
clause of my GB 8988;2001 (IEC60065;1998) standard?

Thank you in advance,

Chuck McDowell

Paul and Chuck,

To be 100% sure, best is to submit the cord set specs to CQC with intended
application and HS code and hear back from them. It will save you much headache

[PSES] EN 55022 and CISPR 16-1-4 above 1 GHz (again)

2012-04-23 Thread Carl Newton
List members,

There was a lot of push-back at the original EN 55022 / CISPR 16-1-4 method
for measuring above1 GHz and implementation was delayed (as I recall). Do
the changes to the latest CISPR 16-1-4:2010 address the measurement method
any differently? Absorber still required on the floor between horn and DUT?

Thanks,

Carl

[PSES] Safety cost and ESD

2012-04-23 Thread McInturff, Gary
Given the implementation differences between US/Canada(?) and EU on the medical
60601-1 standards. EU the June, US June 2013. How are folks handling new
products being introduced now or in the very near future? Just got a quote back
and the US certifier wants to charge me twice once for the 2nd edition and then
to transition to the 3rd edition. I anyone else running aground on this. Seems
like this should be happening on both sides of the pond - since a CB report to
3rd edition would run into the second edition enforcement in the US (and maybe
Canada - I don't know their implementation date).

To be fair - I get good service once I get past the sticker shock and don't
have any complaints from that standpoint. In fact I enjoy the engineering staff
I work with.

Different question about ESD.

I have a component we tested on the normal 55024 directed ESD table for a table
top mounted device. Worked fine, problem is that the customer places this on a
large metallic roll around pedestal on rubber wheels. When they send it to a
lab and test it this way there is a problem. I don't have the pedestal so I'm
trying to simulate with my table and removing the 1 mohm bleeder resistor.
Between discharges to the table, I ground a braided strap attached to the table
top to my reference plane below. I get very similar results then. What should
the braid really look like - should it just be a short, should it have some
bleed resistance in it. I chose none since the discharge is going to be people
touching the pedestal or other furniture that is grounded.

What does the standard say about the VCP and HCP?

Why are they testing it that way? Products should be tested as the
standard specifies.
