Isolation methods for surge immunity tests
We are testing a comm line for 61000-4-5 and are using a laptop PC for support equipment (EUT will be talking to the PC). Do any of you know what could be used to isolate the PC from the surge being applied to the EUT comm line? Are opto-isolaters typically used for this purpose, and if so, can anyone suggest a make/model for one of these? EN 50021 question
Greetings, In 1999, pR EN 50021 went to EN 50021. My question is...why have the spacings for Pollution degree 2 been changed between the preliminary version to the adopted version of 50021. The spacing requirements seem to have increased. ISA-S71.04
Greetings, I was wondering if anyone out there is familiar with this standard and/or know of a coating that can be used on PCBs to protect them from potentially corrosive gases and airborne contaminents. The standard specifically deals with process measurement and control systems. PLC's in radioactive environment?
Is there anyone out there that has had any experience with installing automation in a radioactive environment where the equipment would be possibly exposed to gamma and xrays? Are there any products or organizations that build/develops gamma X-ray protection for electronics?? Thanks, DB

RE: Is Your Head Clamp CE Marked?
The Truth Is Out There.. -Original Message- From: Scott Douglas [mailto:s_doug...@ecrm.com] Sent: Monday, November 15, 1999 11:18 AM To: EMC-PSTC (E-mail) Subject: Is Your Head Clamp CE Marked? Hi All, Happened to see the X-Files last night and noted that the clamp used to hold Multer's head still during brain surgery had a CE mark prominently displayed on the forehead section. Makes me wonder, is CE marking of brains coming next? Would mine pass? Or will it need a major re-design to become compliant? Not sure I want the answers to those questions. Operator Interface Displays
Does anyone know of a standard that talks about the testing requirements on a display/keyboard interface. I am interested in knowing what kind of ESD tests to perform on it.
