Re: German Translation
Hi Richard, Gefährdung means in English: danger or hazard in general; in special e.g. radiation hazard a very good dictionary is free available under: http://dict.leo.org/ best regards Helmut Hintz richwo...@tycoint.com@majordomo.ieee.org on 30.11.2001 02:32:55 PM Please respond to richwo...@tycoint.com Sent by: owner-emc-p...@majordomo.ieee.org To: emc-p...@majordomo.ieee.org cc: Subject: German Translation Can someone please tell me what the word Gefäedungen means in English? Re: Is 36-72VDC power supply input still valid?
The 72V upper limit is still needed also for the future. In Germany as well as in eastern European countries including Russia, the central battery in telecom centres is a 60V (nominal) battery. The uppper limit is 72 V (2,4V x 30). This situation will not change in the near future regards helmut hintz Alcatel Germany Denomme, Paul S. paul.deno...@viasystems.com@ieee.org on 04.05.2001 17:36:32 Please respond to Denomme, Paul S. paul.deno...@viasystems.com Sent by: owner-emc-p...@ieee.org To: \EMC-PSTC (E-mail)\ emc-p...@majordomo.ieee.org cc: Subject: Is 36-72VDC power supply input still valid? I have recently had a discussion with someone who stated that people are no longer specifying a 36-72V input, and that they are specifying 42-56V because it is more standard for todays applications? Does anyone know where the 36-72V input requirement originated and where and when we still need to design to the old specification of 36-72V? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Paul S. AW: TNV-2 to SELV Spacing
Gary, between TNV2 and PE (ground) the only requirement is functional insulation. For max TNV2 (120Vdc) the following spacings apply: clearance: 0,6mm (table 2K last column) creepage: 0,6 up to 2,4mm depending on the PD and MG (table 2L) eg for PD 2 MG IIIa 1,5mm relevant document: IEC 60950 3.ed 1999 best regards helmut hintz -- Von: Gary.McInturff / unix (gary.mcintu...@worldwidepackets.com) An: emc-p...@ieee.org Betreff: TNV-2 to SELV Spacing Datum: Donnerstag, 15. Juni 2000 16:44 Temporarily without my standard, and need a spacing requirement. Seems to me that over surface it was 1.4 mm or 1.0 mm through air, but it also seems to me that it was contingent upon whether or not the secondary was grounded or not. How about TNV-2 to ground? As always there is no room, no time and we need to spin the board. Thanks Gary --- This message is from the IEEE EMC Society Product Safety Technical Committee emc-pstc discussion list.
