Now you have to have 2 knobs? Not sure how I feel about that. When I'm not sure of my program, I twiddle the feed rate knob quite a bit. They do - but on commercial controls feedrate knob only affects feed, not rapids. On Fanuc systems there is usually a separate switch that says Rapid Override on the control panel that is marked 100%, 50%, 25% and the fourth position F1 - F1 is customisable via a system parameter but most installers set it at 10%. Some of the later controls, it's on the touch screen. I've never seen a commercial control that changes both. Re: [Emc-users] A minor feature request
On Friday 06 June 2014 12:18:16 Charles Buckley did opine And Gene did reply: Hello, Not sure of anyone has ever mentioned this and it is really just a small annoyance, but I would really love it if when I edit an existing config in stepconf that it did not overwrite the DISPLAY=XXX with DISPLAY=axis. Or, am I just not seeing how to keep it from doing that? Charles Buckley I don't think you can, Charles. Which is why, once the basics have been set by stepconfig, any further edits are always done with your editor of choice. VIM will work, but I have gradually migrated to gedit. [Emc-users] Either I am a survivor, or he isn't ready for me.
Just s short note to explain my quietness this past week, I've been in the shop, 80 miles north, recuperating from a Pulmonary Embolism, something thats generally 100% fatal. So now I'm a free bleeder, taking coumaden aka warferin, yadda yadda. Lemme tell ya folks, its not a pleasant way to die, but they had sense enough to go straight to the CT to locate/verify the clot, and start a shot of ATP, so I am phenomenally lucky. Other than huge legs from all the heparin they pumped in by the gallon the right half of my heart blown up to 2x normal size from the back pressure the clot created, I am recuperating as expected. The heart size should gradually normalize over the next few weeks. I got home last evening pissed off 5 lbs out of my legs overnight. Anyway, I'm about 10,000% better than a week ago last Wednesday evening, and it seems my thinker has survived, so I eventually should get back to pretty close to what was normal for me. Nice to hear you're ok, I hope you get better everyday :). Today was a little strange day for me with things related to health. The father of my brother's wife (I don't know the short term for that) was on a surgery because he had an hernia that was compromising his intestines, fortunately everything went alright. It was quite a challenge because he has really weak lungs, since he smoked almost his entire life. Anyway, it seems he's ok now. On my own, I did a stupid thing with a press drill today and ended with a heavy hit on the side of my head, just over my ear. Fortunately, the hit only knock me a little, and I have a little skin cut but It's more tedius than severe. I went' to the doctor and after some rays they told me I have a rock head, so I guess I'm alright. Anyway, this is about you, so the best for you and hope you can get to work as soon as possible! I think that an important thing on recovery, and even in life in general is to have something to DO and off course enjoy that something. Guys like you are always on the run doing a lot of nice stuff, so keep on with that and certainly you're going to be ok! :) 2014-06-06 22:00 GMT-03:00 Gene Heskett ghesk...@wdtv.com: On Friday 06 June 2014 18:15:06 TJoseph Powderly did opine And Gene did reply: On 06/06/2014 12:50 PM, Gene Heskett wrote: Just s short note to explain my quietness this past week, I've been in the shop, 80 miles north, recuperating from a Pulmonary Embolism, something thats generally 100% fatal. There is a straight thru tube from the near ear to the far one. I could see it working... ;) Glad to hear your OK. I'm with you on Doctors - like lots of other professional people, may be clever but totally lacking in the not so common common sense. I've worked with many pro's with very high IQ's and more qualifications you could shake a stick at and there are very few of them I'd even let take my dog for walk ;) Can't complain as being a cynical realist has kept me employed all my life and I love nothing more that wearing my I told you so tee shirt. It's cost me a few jobs too G. I have one that reads Don't rush me, I get paid by the hour Steve Blackmore Yup, excrement happens. I did have one very interesting conversation during my stay with all those tubes stuck in me. A Texas girl of obviously Chinese origin was my head nurse one evening. When I got my first look in her eyes, I had no problems understanding that I was seeing a set of eyes in front of an IQ well north of 150. I could have spent the rest of my stay there absorbing that. Its not often that I encounter such an individual that matches or exceeds my 147. This lists occupants surprise me too. Several here I'd guess are 150+. On Friday 06 June 2014 21:14:41 Leonardo Marsaglia did opine And Gene did reply: Nice to hear you're ok, I hope you get better everyday :). I haven't had a smoke in my face in 25 years, but I get the woofs 2nd hand. :( On my own, I did a stupid thing with a press drill today and ended with a heavy hit on the side of my head, just over my ear. That is the crux of the matter after several hours simmering. :) Guys like you are always on the run doing a lot of nice stuff, so keep on with that and certainly you're going to be ok! :) Thanks, Leonardo Cheers, Gene Heskett -- There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
