I wonder if Scorchworks' "Gcoderipper" can do that?

http://www.scorchworks.com/Gcoderipper/gcoderipper.html

It doesn't list 'mirror' as one of its features, but it does list
'scale', and 'mirror' is just a scale of -1.

I've heard good things about another Scorchworks product called
F-engrave. It does text V-carving from Truetype fonts, and other tricks.

Both are open source projects that run on Linux and work well with
LinuxCNC. We have f-engrave packages in our debian archive already
("sudo apt-get install f-engrave"), if there's a success story or two
about gcoderipper i'll add packages for it too.

Something that reads in a G-code file then outputs a G-code file that is mirror
imaged along either the X or Y axis. Then when one wants to cut the mirror
image of the original, simply load that file. It would need to handle cut
direction changes if needed.

Gentlemen,
I want to reiterate the date is not set in stone (unless we want it to be).
I want to facilitate anyone's schedule so if we have conflicts let's change
the date to resolve them.
anytime will work for me but a week prior or a week later would be great
thanks
Stuart

Good start, learn manual then go to CNC

Use a VFD to control the motor. 3 HP means it is a smaller lathe

Monarchs of that vintage usually had 16 speeds on 4 levers (binary)
These seem to be the speeds like my model 14AA which had 16" swing.

Knobs? CNC don't need no stinking knobs!

My 14AA was completely worn out. The plan was to refinish the ways on
the planer, scrape the carriage to fit, then convert to CNC by leaving
off the apron and installing a ball screw in place of the feed shaft.
That all changed when I got a chance on a machine of slightly larger
capacity with the Fanuc control.
