Do you maybe know where I can buy clamps and table accessories too?
It also seems to be non-standard.
I make most of my clamps my self, but it would be nice to know what is
available for the Isel.

There is the missing part to the Puzzle.
At least now I have accurate information.

Isel told me it is ER25, which is way too large and none of the other
Din and ER collets would fit.

I checked this afternoon and it would be straight forward to have a
colleholder made to take ER16 collets.
All you need is exactlythe same shredded holder only with the threads
 about3/4 longer.

That would be better, as the stock nut with the spring retaining clip is
 awful!

[Emc-users] Isel/Kress

2008-11-22 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
One of my Isel macjines (a small Davinci) uses a Kress Spindle.
I contacted Isel USA to find out what Collets they use as I want to
replacce some of mine.
They said ER25.

Well After buying ER25 set of 15, it is NOT the same as what came with
my Isel.
I then bought ER11 and ER16 sets, and neither of those asre remotely the
same as what I have bought with my Isel.

I am starting to think that they gave me the wrong info and that maybe
the Kress Spindle uses DIN Collets.

Before I spend another $1000 on the wrong collets, and since Isel USA
seemingly have no clue of customer service, or knowledge of their own
products they distribute, I am wondering of anyone here can help me to
try and ID the collets I have or maybe help me to convert my cress to
take ER collets.

Thanks

Measure what you have and google.
The following page is the 2nd hit on ER collet dimensions and lists
many different types:

Machinists Handbook has more detailed measurements on the ER collet dimensions,
if you need them.

2008-11-22 Thread Pascal Lelièvre
Hi

I would suggest you contact Kress directly. I've got also a Kress
spindle and they pointed me out directly to their 'local' (for me)
retailer upon request.
I didn't think about looking for standard collets and just asked the
dedicated ones.

Best Regards
Pascal

The Kress collets are proprietary and not a standard type as far as I
know? I just bought mine from my supplier.

There's a list here with the full range.
