The machine is about 80 km from me and I do not have spare 5i25 to check, which pins are used for stepgen signals. I would gladly keep that breakout board just for sake of protecting 5i25 board... Is there any chance to convince you for a quick hack to adjust that g540 firmware to include also dir pin? It does not matter, on which particular parport pin it would go, I will rewire accordingly. -- Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience. I dont think there are any common 5 axis pinouts that match parallel port breakouts, but if you are not aiming at a parallel port compatible pinout, you might be able to use a 7I76 pinout. It has 5 stepgens and if the other options (like sserial and encoder) are explicitedly disabled in the config line, all the free pins shoud be usable for GPIO > Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance > APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month > Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now > Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience. [Emc-users] Mesa 5i25 firmware - is there a mistake?
Hello! I am trying to set up a cnc machine with 5 steppers that is supposed to run with 5i25 card and simple breakout board. I downloaded 5i25.zip file from mesanet.com webpage and found that 5i25_g540x2.bit might be the most appropriate firmware to use. The problem is that in .pin file I see that there is step pin for stepgen4, but I do not see dir pin for stepgen4... Outputs of stepgens 0-3 are working great, now I need to get 5th motor to work, but I have no idea, which pin is dir pin. Is there a mistake in .pin file and the dir pin is not specified or does the dir pin not exist at all? Thanks in advance!
